Alcock and Brown Hotel is family owned and operated. Situated in the center of Clifden Village close to where the famous aviators John Alcock and Arthur Brown completed the world's first trans-atlantic flight. Connemara has always had a special reputation for being just that bit special. The beautiful mountains, long sandy beaches are yours to explore. Almost everywhere is an adventure waiting to happen, or a memorable ramble in the offing. Such is the nature of the place. The Connemara National Park (9 miles north of Clifden on the Westport Road) or Kylemore Abbey (11 miles along the same route) provide some lovely walks in some beautifully picturesque Connemara scenery.
