Ambassador Hotel Nice

Hotel and staff very good. HOWEVER, when we had to book some extra days due to the eruption in Iceland, they upped the charge by E64 per night. Unfortunately it was only when we offered to pay for the 3 days that we found this out. We could understand a reasonable fee, but not E64. We were now seeking to stay another few days, as we were flying home on the Friday, but I immediately cancelled the booking. The gentleman at the reception desk seemed embarassed, and suggested that he would speak to a higher power. Bear in mind that there were only about 12 rooms occupied at the time. After a few minutes he came back and offered us the room E40 cheaper. We did accept the offer, but were a little disappointed at the whole episode. Apart from that we had a good holiday.
