Customer Reviews for Apex International Hotel Edinburgh

Stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend for a three night weekend break. The hotel is in an excellent location- the castle and Princes Street are both only 10 mins walk away 9although you have to climb ALOT of steps to get to the castle!!) Loads of nice pubs and restaurants around too which is handy so no need for taxis everywhere.
The hotel itself is lovely too- very clean and the most comfortable bed ever! The only minor bad thing I have to say about the hotel was that we rang down on the morning of check out to ask if we could have a late check out which we were willing to pay extra for. Reception happily said yes. Unfortunately though this message obviously wasnt passed on to house keeping who knocked on our door three times in the space of an hour and even walked in at one stage before we had a chance to answer the door! Dont let this put you off though- overall a lovely hotel with excellent location!

The hotel was a stones throw from bustling restaurants and bars in old town Grassmarket area,so steeped in history and has loads of quirky cute shops. It was minutes from Edinburgh Castle and hotel had view of castle, convient to all attractions and next to bus stop. The hotel its self was satisfactory, clean and decent sized room.Staff were pleasant and approachable.During our stay the hotel held wedding reception with most of party staying in hotel but this did not disrupt our nights sleep thankfully. My only critism is the bar which is lovely could have benifited with more staff as they provide table service it slowed down service, when only one member of staff on.Saying that they accomodated late food orders for guest after late check in or long day trips and always remained very friendly when visibly under pressure.

Hotel staff were very helpful. We arrived on early flight and were put in a queue for an early room. We were given a room at 1.30 instead of the normal 2.30 check in. The situation of this hotel for tourists is perfect and I would recommend it to anyone I know who would be intending to visit Edinburgh.
