I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights early March 2008. I reserved 4 rooms for husband and myself, and 3 other couples. Some took the airport shuttle to the hotel, which they had no compaints about. We rented a car and drove there from the airport (parking at hotel is 11 Euros per night. Difficult to find street parking). It was very easy to find, as it is right next to the train station in Torrejon. The hotel is really beautiful. Sleek, modern lobby and bar area, all white leather and chrome. There were 3 computers with internet in the lobby, free to use, as well as free WiFi in the lobby. There are lots of comfortable seating areas in the lobby and in the bar, which was spinning some very funky tunes each evening. Check-in was painless and quick, with very friendly service. The rooms were larger than your average Spanish hotel room, and very clean and modern. No English channels, not even CNN, but we didn't mind. Beds large and comfortable, loads of different pillows and cushions to choose from. A nice size desk and chair, as well as a comfortable reading chair with lamp. Large bathroom with shower and excellent hair dryer and shaving mirror. Breakfast was included, and had a lot of variety. But the "hot" buffet was not hot at all. In fact, the eggs were downright chilled. But there were a lot of other options of fresh fruit, yogurts, cereals, lots of different breads and pastries, cheese and cold meats. The service in the breakfast room was the one weak point of our entire stay. There would be long periods of time with no staff in the room, and when we asked for a pot of coffee (which you can't get yourself), they were a bit surly.
What impresses me about a hotel is how they deal with problems that arise. On our second night, I was just about to go to sleep when my bathroom ceiling started gushing water. It was pouring in from the bathroom above, right through the light fixture. Dangerous! I called reception, and they sent somebody up immediately. The water in the room above was turned off, and the housekeeping lady was extremely apologetic, and said she would move me into another room straight away. She helped me pack up all my things and carry them to a new room on a higher floor, which was larger than the one we had been in. That entire process took about 10 minutes! I had to go down to the bar to tell my husband that we had a new room, and the housekeeper told the bartender to give us and our friends sitting with us whatever we wanted to drink, on the house. She apologized again. As did the receptionist when we checked out.
Overall, an excellent hotel. Best Madrid airport hotel I have stayed in (and I have stayed in at least 10) Only a 10 minute shuttle ride from airport. Next to train makes it easy to get into central Madrid. Lots of restaurants and bars in Torrejon to choose from.
