Stayed at the rialto twice before and cannot fault it.Its a lovely hotel great rooms staff and food. The staff were very helpful . its in a great location.
The rating above is more correctly a borderline "very good". Although we are used to North American standard rooms being much larger, it required an adjustment to this smaller room but it was an easy adjustment. We were lucky to have secured a front room overlooking the street with a balcony - a very nice feature. Our first room faced an inner court/alleyway with a dim view, early morning noise (0500) down the echoing alley and no balcony. The hotel moved us without question. Be careful with wake up calls. We were not awakened on two out of three requests (although both other couples with us had no problems). The breakfasts were included and were adequate but I wouldn't recommend paying the hotel for them if they are not included. No menu changes occurred during our 7 day stay. The only egg choice was hard boiled which may or may not have been hot depending on when they were delivered. The same can be said of the sausages provided. The location of the hotel is ideal for touring the downtown. Having said the foregoing, we would definitely go back.
Close to Metro & Town, very nice hotel and service.
A bit noisy, but to be expected in a city centre hotel but great value hotel and a good breafast
The Auto Hogar Hotel was very accomodating.......... staff was very attentive........... breakfast was good.......... and we were given a room with a small balcony. We would have preferred a location that was closer to the Upper Ramblas Avenue, but overall for the price it was an excellent value.
Nice and clean room / bathroom. Nice service in the reception. Nice breakfast.
Clean and friendly, good breakfast selection, no bar.
I wouldn't exactly call this a hotel. This is clearly student residence and pretty average at that. The cheap price is basically "you get what you pay for. Pro's 1. Good communication to the city. The mostly male staff are very friendly and very helpful. They do there job to the best of their ability under what sweems difficult circumstances. Just one young lady seemed to lack professional communications skills with customers. 2. Ethernet internet works. Bring your cable just in case (and a sense of humour). 3. Air conditioning very good. In fact you could start your own fridge. Cons 1. The first thing to understand that this place is NOT tranquil as advertised by the bookers. When I arrived it was overran by some 50 to 60 children of between 10 and 14 with little supervision. I had to ask for my room to be changed after being "harrased" by my little next door neighbours. You will NOT find quiet here. Every evening it is overrun and one cannot enjoy the outside spaces in tranquility. 2. I have been in this room for three days now and the room has not been cleaned. The bedding is the same and I had to ask for new towels. 3. The gym is not exactly what I would call a gym. It is a room with free weights and a couple of stepping machines and a bike machine. I gym every day and have not come across a more poorly equipped exercise space. This "gym" has not been thought through. Considering you can hire bicycles cheaply around the city and ride in the sun, it is beyond me why you would want to do exercise on a stationary bicyle inside a spartan room. 4. The rooms are more basic than basic. Cheap and nasty unconfortable furniture and the bathroom does not have ventilation so it condenses and water stays on the badly designed sink frame. Verdict. Cheap and noisy. Requires a good dose of that unique local brand of imagination (I can qualify this as am a resident) in which you try a sell something cool but that isn't. Not recommended.
The stay was ok, the personnel was very nice, the food is ok and the hotel is very clean and quite. Yet the lack of hot water during all Friday (6th) completely spoiled this evaluation. Bearing in mind that we checked-in on 5th and checked out on 7th we spent the most part of our stay without hot water…
Excellent stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely room (bit small) but modern, nicely furnished etc.
Room was very comfortable and we particularly enjoyed the rooftop patio with great views of Barcelona. The location was perfect for us and the reception staff could not have been more accommodating.
good hotel, well located in the centre of things, very near bus station if using ryanair from girona you walk about a block to hotel, about 10 minutes walk to beach, 10 minutes to start of shopping rambla and 10 minutes to cathedral. There is a pool and fitness centre with a sun terrace on the roof, pool is open so probably only suitable from april to october. Rooms are nice and clean and staff are nice, there was no safe in our room but the hotel allow you to place money etc in hotel safe which i would recommend. There is no bar in the hotel but a very nice tapa bar just across the street. Breakfast in hotel is a good buffet type but its very expensive at 13 euros if you do not prebook. However there is a supermarket in the next street with a selection of cafes which would be more reasonable. Rooms can be a little noisy as there are fairly busy roads around you but this can be expected in a city centre location. Traffic in Barcelona seems to be always busy. Another thing i would recommed are the taxis there are loads around and they seem very cheap.
Really enjoyed our stay in the Alexandra Hotel. Perfect location for pottering around this fab city. Hotel very welcoming, very accommodating and very helpful and friendly staff. Nothing was a hassle and despite our lie-ins and late departures from the room our room was tidied and cleaned everyday. Thank you!!!
We stayed in Barcelona for business and we found Hotel H10 Universital by roomex.com. The price was excellent for 4-star hotel. Hotel is situated in the centre, you do not need a taxi, but it is a little bit noisy. The staff is very gentle, the breakfast is excellent, the room is comfortable. We enjoyed very much and if we come to Barcelona some other time, we will stay at H10 Universitat hotel again.
This Hotel has an excellent location 100mtr from the Plaza Cataluna Directly on line for all transportation routes A great modern style hotel with friendly courtious staff. All of whom were very helpful. The food was plentiful at breakfast, with a variety that could cater for everybodies needs. If in Barcelona again I would choose this hotel without hessitation and you should too. Highly reccomended
