The rooms vary considerably in size from very small to large and are all individually furnished, some with old fashioned sinks. They are in good condition following extensive renovation but some rather outdated elements remain. The bathrooms are in good condition, but could do with a little freshening up in places. The hotel dining room is large and airy. It is quite traditional with its high ceilings, wooden floor and chandeliers. The exterior of the building is traditional and rather quaint. The medium sized lobby is very elegant with it high ceiling complete with delightful decorative cornice-work. There is a modern reception desk and a small cosy bar just off the lobby providing extra seating. This is a charming property and definitely a work-in-proress with its energetic new management busy restoring the hotel to its former glory. 0704RY

This hotel is situated in the older, more picturesque part of town, overlooking the river Are and only a short walk from Interlaken West railway station and the main shopping area.
