All of the large bedrooms in the hotel are beautifully furnished with silk panelled walls with each room featuring individual designs in varying colour schemes. However, luxury fretted linen and deep, hand-woven carpets are standard throughout. All the bathrooms are marble lined and feature walk-in showers and luxury toiletries. Standard rooms have queen beds. The hotel has two main restaurants. Peridot is an informal and spacious restaurant overlooking the garden square serving breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. 1880 offers more formal dining and the famous 'grazing' menu made up of six, seven or eight courses developed by the celebrated chef Andrew Turner. The building was originally made up of several grand Victorian terraced mansion houses, which have now been carefully restored to their former grandeur. The medium sized lobby is opulently furnished with Louis XV furniture, chandeliers and marble flooring with a central sweeping staircase. The hotel also features a luxurious spa area which includes a fully equipped gymnasium, treatment rooms and London's only authentic Turkish bath, with original marble imported from Turkey. The hotel is located in the heart of Kensington on an elegant tree lined avenue, within easy reach of the Kings Road, Sloane Street as well as the famous museums in South Kensington. Gloucester Road underground station (Circle, District and Piccadilly lines) is a short five minute walk away.

Very enjoyable stay. I had read mixed reviews of the hotel facilities and service following booking, but our stay (my parents actually) was great. Will book again.
