The room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was everything you wanted. We ate at night in the bar area where the food was adquate. The drink at the bar was overpriced especially the glass of wine,(priced £6.25 per glass). Staff were friendly. The shuttle bus driver on Sat morning was pleasant and courteous. Overall we had an enjoyable stay.
Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good. Bathroom is small. Hotel is a bit further from airport than I thought. For the price it is good value.

hotel was okay, but could not get the heating to work was very cold
Full marks for check-in; it was quick and easy, my request for a quiet room - since I was travelling on business - was readily met and the fact that I arrived a little earlier than normal check-in time wasn't a problem for the pleasant young woman on Reception. My room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. Minor quibbles were that: * The room was a little chilly and the air con/heating unit seemed set to automatic and air con rather than heat. * The Bath taps didn't seem to produce hot water but I managed to fill the Bath using the shower instead, so this wasn't a big deal. Breakfast was typical of the hot-food-sitting-under-heat-lamps type. Staff were fine. The central location is hard to beat, if travelling by train, and I would return to this hotel.

Had a great stay at the Novotel at Birmingham Airport. The hotel is right across the road from the terminal so could not have been easier and quicker to get to. The hotel itself is modern and bright. My room was spacious and very comfortable. And the service from the staff there was at all times excellent, from the quick and friendly check-in service to the bar and restaurant. Highly recommend.
Delighted with short but very satisfactory stay. Staff extremely pleasant and happy to do anything to facilitate the customer. At reception on checking in we particularly requested a quiet room and were promptly moved from the first to the sixth floor to a room well away from the lift. Slept like a baby!!!

Stayed 2 nights. Breakfast - very good Bar - Good value to 7 p.m. with happy hour - 5 bottles of bud for 8.75; barman friendly but little english; ran out of san miguel draught, bottles of bud and bottles of corona first night; re-stocked on the Saturday night Very convenient location Bedrooms o.k.; Good value, stayed also last year and will probably stay next time.
I found the Britannia adequate but it felt old and grubby. It's clean, the shower is really good, the beds are comfortable but the rooms are quite small and cramped and the breakfast is awful. It's a buffet style but there's very little fresh food, virtually everything is from a tin, including the mushrooms and the fruit. I'd go so far as to say that's it probably one of the worst breakfasts I've had in any hotel. The hotel has 2 lifts, one was out of order and the other one was sooooooooooooo slow, I actually stood for close on 10 minutes on the ground floor waiting for it to arrive. Luckily we were staying on the 4th floor so we could walk the stairs but some of the group were on the 8th floor so had to rely on the lift. The location though is excellent, right in the centre, a 2 min walk from the New St Train Station. Overall I wouldn't stay here again, I'd rather pay a little bit more for a better hotel
Had wonderful stay here at Jury's Inn. Great location, lovely room on 12th floor, very spacious and with a bath! Having stayed at City Inn in the past, this was very welcome, as they don't have baths, just showers. I found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. I can't comment on the food, as we didn't eat there, but I would really recommend the Indian restaurant next door, Pushkar, really excellent food at good prices. All in all, Jury's Inn is excellent value for money, especially for such a central location - nice comfy rooms and good service.
The hotel was very good , my only critiscism would be breakfast was not catered for very well , with mass queues as food was not ready , and the cooking its not co ordinated properly.
Hotel was very central to the city centre, with all the top shops and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The quality of the food and drink was excellent , if a little expensive. The rooms were of a good standard and very clean. The hotel had a pool and leisure centre, but were closed for our trip, due to the pllo being cleaned.
very pleasant staff
We travel from Birmingham Airport to New Street Station and it was only a 5 minute walk to the Crowne Plaza. The staff were friendly, courteous, and very helpful. We had booked a double room with 2 single beds and got a lovely room with two queen size beds and tea and coffee facilities in the room with ironing board and iron. Breakfast was self service and lovely. It was only a 5 minute walk to the town centre which was great and Broad Street was also only a 5 minute walk. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this hotel
For the room rate I can't really complain but there were a number of gripes: air con/heat unit in room wouldn't switch on; breakfast fare not particularly of a high standard and far too long waiting at check-out time to be served. Wouldn't see a Crowne Plaza as somewhere worth paying extra for in the future at home or while travelling abroad.
one of the worst places I've ever set foot in
excellent hotel.staff very friendly.great location in center of city.5 mins from Train Station.
Have always stayed in the City Inn when in Birmingham, but was quite disappointed this time. The location is brilliant - central for everything. We ordered a steak sandwich one afternoon with fries and sat just opposite the bar - the fries came when we were finished the sandwich (not a big deal) but worse than that, we had to endure the barman firing empty beer bottles into the bin in the bar every few seconds - and for anyone who has had to listen to that, it doesn't make for a pleasant experience! Also, breakfast on the Sunday morning was completely lacking in any kind of service - awful tea, even more awful coffee and the service was so bad that my husband had to actually go up and ask three people (who were just standing around chatting) if we could get some service. Am going to Birmingham again this month, but won't be staying in the City Inn, as the high price charged doesn't mean you'll get good service.
Brilliant stay here at the City Inn Birmingham - absolutely love the location - right in Brindley Place, which is just off Broad Street, in the centre of town. Lovely restaurants, cafes and great places to go on your doorstep. Room great, spacious and clean, as always. Breakfast great - plenty of selection and the staff are willing to cook just about anything you could desire! We also ate in the restaurant, top class food and very good 2 and 3 course meal deals. Love the City Inn hotel chain - they really have got the formula right!
