The rooms are traditional in style and are in very good condition. They are medium in size and all rooms are equipped with remote control televisions, hairdryers, direct dial telephones, trouser press and facilities for making tea and coffee. There is also wireless internet access available throughout the building. The onsite restaurant offering good quality meals for breakfast and dinner. A bar area with seating is also available for guests looking to relax with a drink in the evening. This is an attractive traditional building with a large car park to the rear. The lobby is medium sized and is decorated in a traditional fashion with dark woods and red and green colours. A well managed and maintained property minutes from central Birmingham, also ideally located for Birmingham airport and the NEC. (KB 05/07)

Area Information

Based in Acocks Green just south of Birmingham centre. Approx 6.5 miles to Birmingham centre. Acocks green train station is literally over the road with trains to Birmingham Moor street and Snow hill directly and New Street with one change. Hotel is just 15 minutes from the NEC and Birmingham Airport.

Our Customer stayed here in November 2010

I stayed here as I was attending an event in the NEC for two days. It was a cheap option which suited my needs. I got lost when looking for the hotel as I typed the address into my sat nav and it took me to a housing estate of the same name. Following a quick phone call I was on my way to the correct location, my own fault I did not use the post code. There is on site parking, complimentary wifi as I booked through roomex and food and a bar on site. I wasn't expecting much from the food so it was ok. Simple things like letting my rib eye steak to rest for ten minutes woulod have made it decent but it was fine. Had a terrible pint of Guinness. The room was clean and fine, decor of the whole hotel bit dated but that didn't really bother me. Breakfast was a selection of continental and cooked for around £8's and was fine. The location isn't bad for the NEC and close to the other motorways too. Overall it did what I needed and service was good, but not the place for a romantic break!
