The room was a good size and the bathroom and toilet was in a satisfactory condition. The best thing was that one could make snack type meals in the kitchen area of the room although there was a limited supply of cutlery and crockery. However, the reception area and corridors were quite drab with very limited lighting. The staff were not particularly friendly. Close to Nuygati and West End Shopping Centre makes it an ideal location. In general, Judit Apartment is fine and reasonably priced.
This is my second visit to this hotel and it certainly lives up to it's reputation as a top rated hotel in Budapest. Located on a quiet square just off the centre of town, the hotel has easy access to Budapest's excellent public transport network, being about a minute's walk from the nearest Tram stop and about 5 minutes from the nearest Metro station. The hotel itself was a 19th century palace and the original courtyard has been very cleverly converted into the lobby area, with the breakfast room on the floor below. Speaking of breakfast, you are really spoilt for choice, with a selection of juices (plus the option to squeeze your own), fruits, yoghurts, cheeses, cold meats, bread (sweet and savoury) and hot options of eggs, bacon, sasuages and mixed vegetables. Breakfast room can get pretty busy during peak times though, but the staff are always on hand, quietly and unobtrusively clearing tables and replenishing stock, so the whole process is quite efficient. After breakfast and until 5pm, guests have access to free tea/coffee and mineral water in the lobby lounge, an unusual and nice touch. Staff are very friendly and helpful and are eager to make your stay as comfortable and happy as possible. Rooms are clean and modern and the entire hotel is maintained to a high standard. There are a couple of restaurants and bars nearby and the area is very safe for walking around, day or night. I will have no hesitation in booking another stay at the Palazzo Zichy and look forward to visiting Budapest again.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Our room was very clean, air-conditioned and spacious. In the mornings we could hear our neighbours alarm and having shower. The cleaning lady through my facial soap away but the hotel offered immediately buy me new one. Staff were friendly and helpful. We appreciated free drinking water (lobby bar before 5pm) in the July heat.
This hotel appears to be very new: taxi drivers did not know where it was! It is in a very central location, however, close to metro stations and about 10 minutes walk from the Danube. As is to be expected, the decor is modern, but the bedroom was comfortable and well-appointed. It was well insulated from noise, but we had requested a room not overlooking the street. Room service was efficient, while the breakfast was good, but not outstanding - the range of food being a bit restricted. Staff were efficient but not particularly friendly. The price we paid may have included an introductory offer, but is was good value for a 4-star hotel in a central location. We would return.

Very comfortable hotel and helpful staff. Thanks to Roomex we got a great deal.
The Marmara is a lovely hotel, with pleasant, helpful staff. The location is excellent...beside public transport but within walking distance of all of the main attractions. The rooms are slightly on the small side so not sure if it would suit a family but as a young couple, this hotel is perfect for a city break...we didn't make it down to breakfast any morning but the dining area looked bright, open & airy. I'd read on another review to bring your own tea / coffee so we did & were glad...the kettle & mugs are provided, we asked for milk (or cream) at the bar. Overall the Marmara is an attractive hotel & I'd recommend it.
We enjoyed our stay at the Mercure Buda Hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location in terms of transport was excellent with the train station being only a few hundred metres away and it was within walking distance to most of the local amenities, it was on quiet side of Budapest. The down side of the hotel was that when we booked which was some three/four weeks in advance we had booked a double room only to find on arrival that we had been allocated a twin room, when we asked staff on reception about it they said it was because they were fully booked given the amount of advance timing I would have thought that it should not have been a major problem. Also there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room although there was a hair dryer and t.v. The bathroom was small but it was clean and the room was warm given the time of year we were grateful, breakfast was buffet style and there was a good variety catering for many people. The restaurant we ate in the night before and the food and choice were excellent with great attention to detail. The only thing that we did find expensive was the fact that my husband ordered a hot chocolate and it cost €6,which we felt was abit extreme. Overall we had a short comfortable stay with the Mercure Buda and we would recommend it in terms of location for travel and short stays.
The room we stayed was very huge and confy. The breakfast was OK but needs quality. Location was OK, too.
A great value hotel for a weekend away with the lads. Basic enough but has everthing that is needed. Its pretty central with a tram line right outside its main door and the main metro station 10 minutes walk away.
we were re-routed to the Hilton hotel near the Buda castle hotel a sthe hotel was occupied/overbooked. Stay was very pleasant and services as well. Parking is free outside the hotel!!!
Nice hotel, big nice room, great location no problems with anything, nice staff. shower and breakfast could have been better.
We stayed at this hotel as dental tourists. The surgery is on the ground floor. Despite having a rather plain austere looking office-block exterior, the reception and public rooms were amazing - very elegant and did much to evoke the atmosphere of the Austro-Hungarian empire. Service and staff were of the highest calibre. Amenities such as swimming pool, fitness centre, massage centre were very good. One of the most striking features was the efficiency and frequency of the lifts - four lifts operating and almost before your finger was off the button, a lift was ready for you. Breakfast and the food in general was more 3 star than 4 star. Our room was disappointing - it was almost impossible to twist oneself at the right angle to use the fixed hangers in the wardrobe, no tea or coffee-making facilities and the decor was dated. Lack of toiletries in the bathroom was a bit of a surprise causing some hassle in a busy schedule as time had to be spent finding shampoo, shower gel. etc. Business facilities were excellent but we were surprised they were not able to supply an adaptor for our 3-pin laptop (we forgot out own). Cannot comment therefore on wifi availability although we were told it was available. Overall, on the macro level the hotel was magnificent, on the micro personal level, a little disappointing.
