The Clare Inn is located exceptionally well..just off the motorway from Limerick. It is basic but the price reflects that. The hotel could do with some updating as it looks lost in the 70's. The room was a good size but no lighting in the main area, nor any full length mirrors. Also cracked tiles in the bathroom and stained quilts. The breakfast was good. Full range for all types. The staff were cordial in the reception area but very helpful in the restaurant. The lift is located at the far end of the hotel with is incredibly inconvenient. It is a handy venue if attending a wedding at dromoland but no more.
Room was very clean, as was the hotel in general, especially the leisure centre area; overall customer service from hotel staff was first class, flawless especially the reception staff; food was nice and competitively priced in my opinion; I would however say that the outside of the building and landscaping can be deceiving, its gives the appearance of a very old hotel, whereas inside it feels a lot younger; The architectural layout of the building can leave you with long walk to your room, so not suited to elderly people, the elevator felt like it could do with a service. An American wouldn't be happy with the small size of the television in the room, but for me, it didn't make that much of a difference as I never watched it.
Everything from beginning to end made this stay special. The hotel sits on a hill overlooking Bunratty Castle and just a 5 min walk over to the Castle or Bunratty Mills shopping area. When I called the hotel they were full but put us on a waiting list, we really wanted to stay here. Roomex was the only place on the web where we could get a room and had the cheapest rate! The hotel on check in put us in the room beside our friends eventhough the hotel was full. There was nothing we asked which couldn't be done. I had a 2yr old with me and at breakfast the staff couldn't have been more helpful, they got my little girl whatever she wanted and eventhough the breakfast finished at 10.30 they still facilitated us until nearly 11am. Our friends had left before breakfast started 6am and they were also facilitated. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. If you want an Irish welcome of welcomes...stay here, you will have a beautiful & memorable experience.
We had a lovely stay. My daughter joined us unexpectedly, and they were able to accommodate us with a roll away bed ( for an added fee) I would go back.
Excellent. Very clean. Breakfast was very nice. Staff very friendly
Staff very helpfull and room very clean.
Staff not very helpful on arrival.floor of corridor, leading to bedrooms very shabby, carpets torn. Bedroom itself very adequate. tea/coffee facilities, tv.,clean bathroom. Just fine for a quick stay, we were at a wedding locally. value for money as we spent so little time there, but wont be returning again any time soon.
i stayed in the hotel with my boyfriend for a well deserved break. we are going to new york in december and this was our only break all year and we both were far from disappointed. on arrival the check in process was very pleasant. our room was very clean and spacious. it was extremely close to all ameneties especially the pub. a particular special touch was the vending machine in the corridor which helped get rid of late night cravings after a night out. the breakfast was beautiful as with buffet you can pick out what you want. many thanks and i would defenitely recommend this hotel.
