Hotel Description
There are 91 rooms on 2 floors. They are generally large with high beamed ceilings, stucco walls, queen or double beds, cable television, air conditioning, fans, telephones and large, modern bathrooms with Mexican tiles. All the rooms are tastefully decorated with native weavings and crafts. Local delicacies are served in the restaurant. This former convent of Santa Catalina was built in 1576. It is a grand property which has been meticulously restored to its former grace. Spanish Baroque architecture and authentic colonial touches will take you back in time. Sunny patios, ancient archways and serene courtyards with long, tiled corridors and fading original frescoes, evoke the colonial past. The hotel's former convent chapel is a state of the art business centre and can accommodate up to 500 people.
