On arrival I was greeted with the most endearing smile by a member of staff. She was very helpful and even organised a cup of tea for me whilst I waited for a room to be freed up.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that an area of the louge had an internet area which made it all the more welcoming since it is nicer to enjoy the company of fellow travellers whilst also doing some work on my laptop et al..
The staff though are the people that made my stay so pleasurable. The ambience ws just right whilst the ambience in the restaurant area was fist class. The manager was as attentive as the staff and I could see that his leadership was inspirational for his staff and to myself.
I had an excellent sleep. The room was perfectly balanced with furniture and bathroom materials alike. Breakfast was multichoice with very well prepared scrambled egg in just the way I liked it. The sausages were not greasy but were very tasty as was both black pudding. There is a fresh fruit selection and plenty of cereals to choose from.
The only drawback was that i had to climb the stairs with my bags. Although it is fair to say I was also offered the assistance of a member of staff, I declined as I felt i needed to walk anyway. I wandered though if a more senior , less able client may not find it more difficult.
Overall though I would rate the hotel is 4.5 out of 5 because , whilst there was no gym facility there was entertainment in the form of a relaxing bar with progressive irish traditional music to listen to.
The other important point is that it is on the airport and a few minutes from the terminal with regular courtesy shuttle bus runs to make life as stress free as possible.
The reception staff are the first and last staff we normally meet at the hotel and my interaction with them was pleasurable and I warmed to them immediately. They were professional, meticulous, calm, reassuring and articulate.
