Studios are 475-525 square feet making them larger than the deluxe rooms, they are well appointed and tastefully decorated with attention to detail. Lighting is fantastic with fixtures ranging from a funky lamp to classic style light. Chairs can be intriguing as well ranging from a wheelbarrow to one with its' back reaching to the sky. Room amenities include, but are not limited to, a CD player and DVD player, high speed internet access and two 2-line telephones, data port connections for modem-fax machines and refrigerators. A restaurant is on-site offering breakfast, lunch and dinner for your dining pleasure. An elegant lounge boasts a crystal glass bar that was etched in Italy. The lounge's panelling is from a redwood tree, and was recently refurbished. The hotel is in a nearly century old building designed with the Italian Renaissance style. The facade is in light yellow brick with tall arched windows. Please note there is no signage or numbers on the building. The lobby is a modern art museum. Artists as famous as Salvador Dali have work displayed here. A comfortable seating area on the side of the lobby, refered to as the living room, has leather sofas and chairs in small groupings. Cocktail games like backgammon and chess are at your disposal as you relax. The hotel is in a central location close to the attractions of Chinatown, North Beach, and cable car lines.
