I arrived on Thursday about 8 o'clock & was staying until Saturday. We flew into Beauvais for a minimal fee & got a bus to Paris which took roughly about 1 hr. The bus stop was directly across from the Hotel Concorde La Fayette. The reception area was stunning & somewhat reminded me of the "memory hotel" from the Heineken add. We then approached the check-in desk which was very prompt & helpful and then proceeded to our bedroom. Our room was located on the 12th floor & had a beautiful view of the Arc de Triomph and buildings for as far as the eye could see which was amazing when lit up at night time!! However the room itself would not class as a 4* in my opinion. It was very small, no coffe/tea provided, bed was quite uncomfortable and the interior design was quite dated.
That evening after unpacking we strolled around in search of a restaurant we passed various restaurants in the proximity & finally selected a chinese. The meal was beautiful & was quite reasonable as well.
When awaking the following morning we went to the breakfast hall which provided a great selection of buffet foods including hot fried food, dairy section with a large selection of cheeses, fresh fruit and a variety of fresh breads.
The following day we entered the Concorde de Paris shopping mall with 100 boutiques which is adjoining the hotel. I have never seen so many designers in my life Armani, Cavalli, Hugo Boss, Burberry, Prada were few of the many shops located in the mall.
Shortly after we walked right to the Arch di Triomph, stopping at numerous shops along the way. We then got a taxi to Eifell Tower as the streets are very narrow & somewhat confusing without a map of the area..!! If your French also needs brushing up I would recommend that you bring a phrase book so as to avoid any awkward situations, however, the majority of people we met had basic english. With regard to sight seeing I would recommend taking a tour bus if you are only staying for a short period as there is such a vast area to cover in such little time.
On returning to the Hotel we relaxed in the lounge/piano bar and sipped on cocktails!! The price for alcohol though is crazy €32.00 for two cocktails (€16 each)and it was the equal amount for two pints of Heineken.
The leisure centre, swimming pool, sauna etc. was located outside at the front of the hotel down stairs which resembled a metro!! We did not avail of the leisure centre during our stay however.
I would definitely recommend this hotel but did however feel that it would be more suitable for businesss personnell.
