I have stayed in this hotel several times. This time I find it much better. Hotel staff is very kind, the buffet is very good. Besides, a free internet connection is really wonderful.

Situated a 10 minute stroll from centre of Como city and the lakefront, the Best Western Continental is an ideal location for a short break. As you walk through the meandering streets and piazzas, you pass a number of bars, cafes and restaurants to satisfy your refreshments and gastronomic needs. If shopping for Italian designer labels is your thing, shops are nearby also in the opposite direction from the lake. The main sights are all accessible also by foot. From the lakefront it is possible to take a water taxi to other villages along the lakeshore. Or from the train station from Milan about 15 minutes walk via the city centre. From the bus station from Menaggio, a 5 minute walk down the steps. The hotel is only 10 minutes away from the football stadium, the home of Como. Rooms are spacious enough with ample wardrobe space for hanging those evening outfits, and a small desk and chair in the room. The bathroom is a sufficient size and the rooms have a full-length mirror. There is a safe in the wardrobe for valuables. The location is quite enough that there is no external noise at night. External roller shutters are fitted to windows to block out the dawn light ensuring a good night's sleep. Buffet Breakfast is continental and there was never a shortage of food during our stay. Rooms have a mini-bar/fridge with reasonably priced snacks and refreshments. Wi-fi is available by requesting a daily code from the reception on presentation of your passport (as required by Italian law). The lobby has a seating area with daily international newspapers. There is also a public computer available for use at an extra charge. Parking is pre-bookable in advance in the hotel garage or possible out front by purchasing tickets from the parking meters. Staff are most helpful and multi-lingual and will store your luggage until you need to depart for your flight. While there are some other more expensive hotels with a more central location, Como's small size means that you can save on costs without sacrificing too much convenience. Overall I would recommend the Best Western Continental Como based on my sojourn there.

As a first time visitor, the staff was very helpful with directions and answering questions about the area. We enjoyed our short stay in Como.
