The bedrooms are medium in size but no two rooms are identical owing to the design of the building. They were all redecorated in 2005 and now have wooden floors and white duvets with attractive covering matching the curtains. The bathrooms were also redecorated and are now in good condition with very attractive, modern green glass sinks and all showers have glass shower screens. The breakfast room adjoins the reception area. The area is traditionally decorated with artifacts celebrating the hotels name association with the city of Paris. It has a traditional exterior. The lobby is part of the reception area and open plan with the breakfast room and bar. The area is kept very traditional Dutch in dark red colors with dark wooden furniture and traditional paintings on the wall. This is a good, basic, centrally located hotel, suitable for those seeking a prime location.

Area Information

This hotel is centrally located within walking distance of the Leidseplein with its bars, restaurants, cinemas and Holland Casino. The Leidsestraat shopping street is also within walking distance. The Vincent van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum are nearby as are all the major attractions this city has to offer.

We really enjoyed our stay in De Paris Hotel, Amsterdam. The room was clean and the staff very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast was very good, you can choose from a big selection of cold or warm buffet. The position of the hotel is brilliant as well, you have to walk only 3 minutes and you get to the busy part of the centre of this city where you can find a plenty of restaurants, cafes, shops and night clubs.

Hotel was reasonably good for price paid. Location brilliant (near Leidsplein and all shops and major sites). Breakfast was reasonably good with choice of 2 cereals, fruit juice, croissants, tea/coffee and toast and scrambled or boiled eggs. Only down side was that it was very hot whilst we were there and even with windows opened it was very hot in room. Our room was okay for size but the room plan did show that ours was quite large compared to some of the other rooms. Amsterdam is a beautiful city and this hotel is reasonable value considering it is central, supplies breakfast and the rooms although not large are reasonably clean and beds are comfortable as mentioned in previous reviews.
