Rooms are medium in size and are in excellent condition as are the bathrooms. All rooms have either a balcony or patio and have spectacular views of the lake and mountains. The restaurant, Sargoods, serves international and local cuisine set in a beautiful location with panoramic mountain and lake views. The chef originally from New York takes pride in serving very imaginative dishes. This is a great hotel restaurant and will surprise you. This is a low rise Resort style complex built in 1986, with lots of character. A small to medium sized lobby, leading to the main hotel bar in one direction and the Sargoods restaurant in the other direction. The Resort is set in park like grounds, with lawns leading to the lake shore and plenty of garden seating to fully enjoy the scenery. Facilities include tennis courts, Spa and Sauna, nine-hole putting green and children's area. Nearby there is an 18 hole golf course, fantastic trout fishing and in season the Ski and snow board slopes. An all year round option depending on the activities preferred. The best hotel in Wanaka.
