Geat location. Very helpful staff. Breakfast was a bit crowded as the hotel was quite full
Good clean rooms at central business hotel.
Very good hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms very clean and spacious. Great buffet breakfasts. Good location. Lots of pubs and restaurants nearby. Would recommend it
The foyer and reception staf were adequate, on reaching the third floor we were immediately suprised at how dingy the space was and it felt quite intimidating, more like a hostel than a 4* hotel. The room was narrow with high ceiling painted white, furniture minimalist but overall fairly comfortable. Breakfast was buffet with a good choice and variety of foods. We only spent one night and will try somewhere else next time we visit Edinburgh.
Stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend for a three night weekend break. The hotel is in an excellent location- the castle and Princes Street are both only 10 mins walk away 9although you have to climb ALOT of steps to get to the castle!!) Loads of nice pubs and restaurants around too which is handy so no need for taxis everywhere. The hotel itself is lovely too- very clean and the most comfortable bed ever! The only minor bad thing I have to say about the hotel was that we rang down on the morning of check out to ask if we could have a late check out which we were willing to pay extra for. Reception happily said yes. Unfortunately though this message obviously wasnt passed on to house keeping who knocked on our door three times in the space of an hour and even walked in at one stage before we had a chance to answer the door! Dont let this put you off though- overall a lovely hotel with excellent location!
The hotel was a stones throw from bustling restaurants and bars in old town Grassmarket area,so steeped in history and has loads of quirky cute shops. It was minutes from Edinburgh Castle and hotel had view of castle, convient to all attractions and next to bus stop. The hotel its self was satisfactory, clean and decent sized room.Staff were pleasant and approachable.During our stay the hotel held wedding reception with most of party staying in hotel but this did not disrupt our nights sleep thankfully. My only critism is the bar which is lovely could have benifited with more staff as they provide table service it slowed down service, when only one member of staff on.Saying that they accomodated late food orders for guest after late check in or long day trips and always remained very friendly when visibly under pressure.
lovely clean hotel with a great breakfast and is in the heart of Edinburgh with views of the castle. what more do u want
Really enjoyed our stay at this Hotel. Superb location, close to all amenities, very friendly staff and breakfast was well received. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Plan to go back to Edinburgh soon and will definitely book this hotel. Thank you Roomex for recommending this hotel. Have booked with Roomex a number of times now and they have always been on the ball for service and advice, invaluable.

This is a great value hotel in a very central location in Edinburgh. It is five mins walk from Haymarket Station from where you can get an Airlink bus to airport. The beds are really comfortable, the staff very helpful and the bar is nice to unwind in. I would definitely recommend this hotel without hesitation.
Staff were soooo friendly. Hotel and the rooms were all immaculate. Food superb.Would stay there again and would recommend Premier Inn to all my friends :0)

We enjoyed our stay at the apex Waterloo place. The location of the hotel is very good for tour buses and bus to the airport. The staff are very friendly. We did not use restaurant or spa facalities. The room was clean and very comfortable.
Excellent location, nice room, good food, very friendly & helpful staff, everything required. I would definitely recommend it to others.
The friendly and helpful staff meant we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were there for a wedding and the whole event was lovely with the convenience of being able to return to our room when we needed. Our 2 year old was staying with us and we found the hotel very child friendly. The room was big and comfortable and kept really clean. The food in the restaurant was very good although the dining room was quite small and there was a bit of a wait for breakfast. The only small complaint I would have was that the bar prices were very expensive.
Had a very nice comfortable say at Macdonald holyrood hotel, Edinburgh The room was spacious and very comfortable Staff friendly Breakfast was of good standard, dining room was busy second day and had to wait in bar area for about 15 mins before we could be seated but there were supplies of tea and coffee Overall a very enjoyable stay and would stay here again
very clean and tidy room. Staff most helpful and friendly. Wonderful cooked breakfast. Would definitely stay again.
I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights . The hotel is basic , very clean and comfortable. The staff are really helpful and friendly and the hotel is centrally located. This is a very good budget hotel .
We booked this hotel only a few days before we went to Edinburgh and there wasn't much of a choice of hotels at that stage as there were a few things on in Edinburgh that week. I could find no fault whatsoever with any part of the stay and would definitely stay here again or recommend it to anyone else who may be traveling to Edinburgh. It was very central just behind Princes Street. The room was very clean and modern and the bathroom was also very clean. Breakfast was well organised and never any wait.
