I dont know what has happened to this lodge/hotel. We stayed here a couple of years ago and found it to be good and clean. This stay however was marked by damp/musty smelling rooms. Worse than that, we got the feeling that the rooms were not being cleaned correctly. When we arrived we were given a room that was totally unacceptable so we complained and to the hotels defence they moved us in a reasonable timeframe. We were upgraded to a "delux" which as far as I could tell was somewhat a par with the "standard" standard of other hotels. To our dismay this room also smelled a little musty and unclean but in this case not enough so to just pack up and leave. To be quite honnest, I wish I had and will if something like this ever happens again in future. If a hotel cannoy afford to clean their rooms correctly or keep enough heat on to stop dampness then they may as well shut up. To the hotels defence, most of the staff had a nice way about them.
Thank goodness I only booked for one night. The staff are the worst I have ever come across in terms of lack of engagement, let alone friendliness. On checking in, I handed over my voucher, which was duly processed and then I was thrust a paper to sign. That was it! No directions to the room, which was very awkward to get to, through a labyrinth and up stairs, through doors etc and no offer of help. I was not given info about breakfast times or even where it was. I went for the bar food - absolutely dreadful and way over-priced - €10.95 for 'Bangers and Mash' which was horrible. I put the sign for requesting breakfast in my room on the door handle as duly instructed. When it did not arrive at the time I had requested, I had a look and the sign was still there! It had not been collected - this meant I was running late and I dashed down to get the breakfast - which was mediocre - greasy, poor quality food. On checking out,it was as if I was invisible - I handed over the room key card to a girl who was chatting to her colleague - with her large handbag on the counter - and she took it and turned away again. Not one word of 'thanks' or 'did you enjoy your stay?' etc. I travel all over the country and I am in hotels regularly and this has been the worst. The room itself was just about ok.
Stay was enjoyable. Room comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Could not ask for much more.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Staff were very friendly but also very efficient. We received a very warm welcome and our room was excellent. Breakfast was superb and the restaurant served very enjoyable meals. The only other comment I would make is that because I have a hearing loss subtitles were not available on the television in our room.

Welcoming staff. Good food. Charming location. Enjoyed our stay will recommend this hotel to friends and family.
The room we were given was very very small but it was clean and well decorated. The food in the bar was fantastic. However the breakfast was very disapointing. I ordered the scrambled eggs and was given a small ramekin of microwaved egg. Couldn't eat it. Parking was also very scarce in the hotel.
Just returned from a two night break in the woodstock. It is a nice hotel but definately is not a 4 star and only a very average three star hotel. The decor is very dated and carpet is worn so much it is tearing in places. The room was a fine size but could have been much cleaner, (lair of dust on the table). The food was only average with breakfast quite cold on both mornings. There is an endless amount of staff but still had to wait 15 minutes for service which isn't acceptable. All in all a very average hotel which has quite alot of noise on the weekend.
Lovely hotel, very helpful, welcoming and friendly staff. Indian cuisine in the Kavi restaurant was delicious. Lovely place to stay, very close to the centre of Ennis. Large comfortable room, in need of a little updating but otherwise enjoyed my stay with lovely views of the golf course.
Excellent hotel, Booked my parents in for a weekend They really enjoyed the stay Found the hotel really cosy, Very central and lovely staff Ate in the restaurant one night and though the food was lovely and the service again excellent. They also enjoyed the bar as it had good live music and a good atmosphere I would therefore recommend this hotel and would not hesitate in staying here or recommending it to friends etc
Lovely staff, excellent location. Parking available in a town centre hotel makes it an ideal base. would recomend for anyone staying in Ennis.
Room excellent, staff excellent, only down was the noise from the nightclub but as stayed before kwew about that, didn't put us off as we were out late ourselves and the rate was excellent. Didn't sample the food but apparently the coffee in the morning is very good!
Room too dear for the Hotel €78 room only, carpets serioursly need to be torn up and replaced in some places they were ripped and did not match in some areas. No valance on the bed horrible base of bed could be seen (very off putting as it looked dirty) Bathroom clean but shower needed to be cleaned with new sealent as it was all black and mouldy (yuck). Basically its the location that allows it to charge the price. Reception Staff very frienly security on door also very good. Stayed in other hotels a bit further out in Ennis for cheaper and way nicer decor if the taxi fare was added in the price would be the same so might be a better option.
