Europa Royale Riga Hotel

This is a really nice old hotel in a very good area of Riga. Its a 15 minute walk from the train and bus station, and a 10 minute walk from the heart of the old city. its also got lots of shops and cafes nearby and a leafy park just opposite. Everything inside was like a palace, guilded mirrors and antique furniture. The room I had was excellent, large, clean and beautifully furnished. It also had a full length bath in the bathroom which was nice to have a soak in after a busy days sightseeing. Breakfast wasn't included, but there are plenty of shops and cafes nearby. There is a casino on the ground floor - but a very classy one (think Casino Royale rather than Las Vegas). The room I had overlooked a courtyard with a nice fountain in it. There was no noise at all from outside so I had a good nights sleep. The check in and check out were very fast and professional. There is also a free internet terminal in the lobby area. I'd definetly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Riga for business or pleasure.
