I took my wife away for the weekend to Dublin and I wanted to stay somewhere special because it was her birthday - we were not dissappointed by the Fitzwilliam Hotel. From the moment we arrived we were afforded extraordinary customer service, warm, personable and extremely attentive.
The room was lovely but best of all we had a 5th floor balcony room overlooking St Stephens Green. The view was incredible and for the special occasion was well worth the supplement.
On the first night we dined, by accident more than anything else, in the hotels Citron restaurant. The food was excellent and the service even better. Without us bringing the occasion to the attention of the hotel staff, they somehow picked up on my wifes birthday and gave her little surprises throughout the weekend which was a lovely touch.
Finally, the location of the hotel is fantastic. Right on our doorstep we had the best shopping, dining, theatre and museums. Best of all, we had Stephens Green to relax in after a hectic day!
The Fitzwilliam Hotel gave us more than a wonderful stay - it gave us a whole new understanding of how enjoyable a weekend in Dublin can be and we will certainly return.
