Customer Reviews for Floris Ustel Midi Hotel Brussels
Our Customer stayed here in October 2010
After finding the hotel which took me about 30 mins as I was looking for a hotel with the name 'Floris Ustel Midi Hotel' rather than 'Ustel Hotel' I was pleasantly surprised. It was clean, bright, friendly and welcoming. However, while the staff member was professional and friendly it was clear after some time that I wasn't expected because he had not received notification of my booking which was made two days prior to my arrival. This didn't deter his assistance and soon I was given a spacious, clean and practical room, (with a double bed) even though I had booked a single room. The buffet breakfast was varied and adequate. The only problem I would have had with the hotel was the lift - in the 13 trips I made in the lift it stopped midway between floors 9 times for periods between 10 seconds and 90 seconds - a considerable amount of time if you have a fear of enclosed spaces. However it didn't stop me frm taking it. The hotel is only a 2 min walk from the metro (if you know where you are going!). I would not encourage women travelling on their own to be out late in the area as it appeared to be a predominaly male area after sundown with lots of tea shops and halal cafes/restaurants for what appeared to be men only and not an area if you are an avid shopper. Even as a white Irish male I felt uncomfortable in the area in the evening time. Having said that I would go back now that I know my way. The metro was accessible to several other metro links making the city easily accessible. Overall a pleasant experience.
