Customer Reviews for Golden Park Hotel Budapest

i have stayed at the Golden Park a few times and find that it is a hotel in a good location beside the main International station ie Keleti with trains travelling to and from vienna (travel time 3 hours approx) and to many other european locations. Nearby (about 5 mins walk) is a large shopping mall with 3 floors of shopping, restaurants, cafes & a large tesco).
The hotel has average to small size rooms that are comfortable and clean, the decor is good and the staff were helpful and friendly. There is an italian restaurant attached to the hotel which is very good and i have eaten in it several times and always found the food good. While i chose a room only on my recent visit, i have booked room and breakfast in the past and found the breakfast to be very good.
Outside the hotel you can take the metro which will bring you to all the sights around the city and Budapest is a beautiful city with lots to see and do. If yoy intend taking the metro in Budapest it is worth researching as the names of the stations (like the street names) are impossible to pronounce correctly or to remember - the best tip i can give is to write down the terminus stops on the line you are using so you will know which side to get on and off ie heading back to the hotel from the city you take the Ors Vezer ter metro and get off at Keleti Palyaudvar.

For the value of the internet booking I would recommend this hotel to any sole traveller, looking for a fairly central hotel in the Pest part of Budapest. The room was clean & adequate, the staff friendly. However the breakfast wasn't wonderful but it was part of the price & would tide you over for awhile.
I found Budapest a very easy city to walk around & this hotel has a good location, though it is near a train station it is not the one that has the airport link, that being about a 25minute walk away.
