This hotel was, without doubt, one of the grand hotels of Lima with an excellent position in the very centre of downtown, historical Lima. However, it has been left for a long time without major refurbishments being carried out on it and, therefore, it is now in need of a major renovation to bring it back up to the standard it once was. It has excellent examples of antique furnishings such as the lift which serves the hotel but needs to be worked on throughout the hotel, but for budget traveller this is definately a very good choice. The lobby is small and traditional in decor with traditional antique seating and furnishings. It has low ceilings and is dark with a marble reception area.Location
The hotel is conveniently located in the historical centre of Lima in the downtown in Plaza San Martin, one of the most famous squares in Lima famous for where Peru's independance was proclaimed.Restaurant
The restaurant is situated on the ground floor and leads out onto an outdoor terrace.Rooms
The vast majority of the rooms are medium in size with the remainder, the suites, being large. All are in fair condition with one floor only being in good condition. All the bathrooms are also in fair condition. There are many examples of antique wood furnishings and predominately the rooms have carpeted floors and dark colours.
