Customer Reviews for Heythrop Park Hotel Oxford
Our Customer stayed here in July 2011
Overall the holiday break was very very pleasant. The only 'gripe'/'complaint' is that the room -AS PER THE ROOMEX OFFER- was 'bijou'/'compact'/'minimilist'/'functional [aka 'SMALL!'] - too 'tight' for two people over an extended stay. The room was bright, well laid out but no closed wardrobe and/or drawer space, with a very pleasant view but ...small. [Irish solution to this problem - leave the luggage in the car!!] The accomodation was/would be/ could be ideal for an overnight - a place to 'throw down the head' - but for a 4/5 night stay...???
Apart from that the setting is magnificant - golf course [if that is your 'thing']spa, sauna, pool ,excellent food and fabulous grounds. The building itself is a 'place to die for', spacious, classical and extensive.
For us the thing that makes a holiday break is the staff and at this Hotel they were excellent , courteous, willing to help, friendly - what more could one ask for.
Perhaps if Roomex had highlighted the fact that the accomodation on offer at the price was so small we might have made other arrangements.
However we were not down-hearted, the weather was great, the area delightful and we would be willing to return some time - but not to such a small room
4 out of 5
