First opened in the year 2000, this 10-storey luxury hotel comprises a total of 294 elegant rooms and suites. Facilities include an air-conditioned foyer with a reception desk, a currency exchange facility, hire safes, a cash machine, a hairdresser's salon, a beauty parlour, a car hire service, boutiques and shops, a coffee shop, a luggage storage facility, a concierge, a souvenir and newspaper kiosk, a tour desk, a children's play area and lifts. Guests may enjoy some local, Mediterranean cuisine in the Oceana restaurant whilst wonderful panoramic views out over the lit marina are to be had from the terrace of Blue Elephant and the rustic Restaurant Bottega del Vino offers Mediterranean snacks and a selection of Italian wines. The meeting and conference centre, which was opened in 2003, offers a diverse selection of rooms for all types of functions (with video projector, copy and fax machines, typewriters and modem connections). 24-hour room service is available to guests and those arriving by car may make use of the hotel car park or the underground parking that lies adjacent to the hotel.

Location

This hotel is located on the northeast coast of Malta, close to the picturesque town of St. Julian. It is just a few minutes walk to the resort centre where guests will discover a diverse selection of restaurants, bars, the casino and many more shopping and entertainment venues. The hotel's exclusive location across the road from the beach means that wonderful views may be enjoyed over the new marina district of Portomaso with its tree-lined promenade as well as nearby restaurants and bars. Featuring its own separate private beach and the fishing harbour of Spinola Bay is to be found in the near vicinity and reflects the everyday ways of life of the locals. A taxi rank is to be found directly before the hotel and the bus station is approximately 300 m away and provides excellent link to countless locations throughout the island.

Room Description

The stylish, modern rooms each come with a bathroom (including bathrobe), a hairdryer, an iron and ironing board, 3 direct dial telephones, satellite/ cable TV with a video function, a radio, fax and Internet services, a minibar/ fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, carpeting, air conditioning, central heating, a safe (complimentary) and a balcony with views out over the sea or harbour. Furthermore, a king-sized bed or 2 single beds may be booked and an additional bed is available for use by a third room occupant (length: 1.80 m). Cots for infants are inclusive (please request). The junior suites are similarly equipped but come with a king-sized bed, a separate lounge, a fax machine and a spacious balcony offering views out over the sea or harbour. A separate check in and out service is also available and non-smoking rooms may be booked on request.

Sports/Entertainment

In the outdoor complex are two swimming pools with children's pools, a saltwater pool, a poolside snack bar, a Jacuzzi and a sun terrace with sun loungers and parasols laid out ready for use. Further leisure options include a sauna, steam baths and an in-house gym with the Hilton's spa area, which is the largest on the island of Malta, covering a total of 2,400 m² and featuring various spa, body and facial treatments. Private aerobics, fitness and dance lessons may be requested (additional fees apply) and sports such as tennis (hard court, floodlighting on request) and squash may be tried out as can a range of water sports including diving, windsurfing, sailing, jet skiing, water skiing, parasailing, banana boating, motor boating and canoeing (fees apply for selected activities). Moreover, surfing, sailing and diving schools are to be found close to the hotel and the hotel's seasonal entertainment programme regularly puts on live music to provide some variation for guests.
