If you are looking for a reasonably priced, clean, friendly, functional, hotel for your stay in Dublin then this hotel is for you. for the price, its a a great place to stay if you want to explore Dublin. Throw in your bags go across the street and get a bus (10 mins) in to the heart of Dublin. Every time I go to Dublin this is where I stay because while the rooms are a bit dated ( they are renovating this summer i believe ? ) It is an ideal spot to if you are coming to Dublin for the weekend and you don't plan to spend your time in a hotel but rather in the city having the craic! ENJOY!!!!!!!
Booked for the Heineken Cup Semi Final weekend, Ulster v Edinburgh. 5 minutes walk from the Aviva Stadium, and perfectly placed for a short walk into the heart of Dublin, with several opportunities to partake in Guinness along the way.... Twin room was clean and spacious, good firm bed and great shower. The hotel was chosen as a fan zone for the match day, which worked out perfectly for the occasion.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Gibson. We were going to a show in the O2, it was so handy as it was just across the way we knew our car was in a safe place for the night. The bar was great quiet and relaxing just what we were looking for. The staff were very polite and friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The rooms were bright and airy and clean. Fantastic experience and would definitely recommend it for a weekend break.
great hotel.got good deal through roomex.luas stops right outside so very easy to reach from city centre. check in smooth and friendly. free wi fi pass given at reception. room on 3rd floor was spacious and had everything you would need. tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, iron & board etc all included. bed very comfortable. was going to concert at o2 which is right across the road. had bar snacks and drinks after concert which were well priced for Dublin. breakfast good and plentiful. check out was smooth. would recommend hotel to anybody travelling to Dublin.
hotel way very nice, super location with very friendly staff.
Clean, modern hotel. Staff were friendly, Breakfast was lovely
The room was clean and tidy. However service in the bar area was slow, staff avoided eye contact with customers - it was difficult to attract their attention for service and when you did they went off mid-service to do other things. This happened on consecutive days so was not a one-off. The bar food was just about average.
My booking provided great value for money and suited my purposes for the week spent in Dublin. I ordered a twin room and out roon was in fact a suite, comprising of a king-sozed bed and a small devan bed. It would have been preferable that the devan would have been somewhat more comfortable as it had the appearance of being a little more than a camp bed. It was without a proper bed spread and it was only after making a second request at the rection that an extra blanket was provided for the remainder of the stay. The food at breakfast time was excellent, along with the good natured staff. The bar service was not great as the hotel seemed to be understaffed. There was a definite problem with the Guinness during our stay. Overall my stay was comfortable and very enjoyable.
We spent a weekend at this hotel and found it located in a lovely part of the city, opposite the Grand canal yet close to the city centre. Our bedroom was bright, clean and comfortable with virtually no road noise. The breakfast buffet was very good and the staff very friendly and helpful. We would stay again.
The hotel was excellent. On arrival we had lunch and it was wonderful. The we were allowed into our room early as we were going to see a show. The receptionist Peter was very good. We were able to leave our bags when we went shopping the next day. Breakfast was great had everything we needed to start the day!
My daughter and I stayed here last weekend, this was our first time staying at this hotel. A lovely comfortable hotel, lovely twin room, very clean bathroom, breakfast very good, restaurant staff absolutely lovely. A 2 minute walk from Heuston Station, a 4 minute walk to the nearest Luas stop. All in all very good but no 'cead mile failte' from reception staff :( Also not the best place to stay if you're a smoker :)
Very good service and excellent food in the restaurant. Very accessible from Heuston Station and Ryan's pub up the street is great for a pint!
Very quick check-in, convenient location, friendly staff, good sized room
Very friendly atmosphere , lovely clean rooms and good food all at a very reasonable rate Will definatley stay here again .
Had a brilliant stay. Room was perfect, staff were friendly, location is excellent and the food at breakfast was delicious! Considering the hotel was packed with rugby fans the staff were attentive and friendly. Will be staying again.
We were celebrating a 60th birthday for my husband. On the first evening we had very good value with pre-theatre dinner in the hotel followed by a trip to the Grand Canal(Bord Gáis)Theatre. The surprise on day 2 was my son flying in from Australia for his Dad's birthday. The bar staff were in on the surprise and couldn't have been more helpful. We had two rooms booked and both were lovely. Breakfast was great and dinner was excellent with good quality food served in the bar by friendly, efficient staff. All in all they were a superb two days thanks to a most positive experience at the Grand Canal Hotel.
Excellent spacious rooms, quality food( if a little pricey), wonderful staff, excellent location. One is made to feel right at home from check-in to check-out. The gym is well equipped and usually quiet. Public transport is a 5 minute walk and a taxi to the city centre will cost around €10. All in all wonderful value for money.
We got a fantastic room rate on Roomex to stay 5 nights at Croke Park Hotel while a family member was at Mater Hospital. Our first impression on arrival was that the housekeeping wasn't great in the room but this was completely disproved over the following days when the room was always impeccably cleaned. The room was spacious and modern with a fabulous bathroom with both a large shower and a bath. The beds were comfortable and the flat screen TV and free Wi Fi were nice additions. The room lighting was challenging in the evenings and would not be adequate if trying to work or read documents even with all the various little lamps on. However it was fine for a leisure break. The breakfast menu was excellent with lots of variety.Bar food was also very good and the staff were very adaptable to customer preferences. The only downside is that the surrounding location is not the most pleasant to walk around at night time (but there are always taxis available) and the cost of wine (€7 for a glass!!!) but these are both avoidable problems! The main hotel asset is the staff. They are so incredibly helpful and friendly. We had wonderful experiences with reception staff, bar staff, breakfast servers and concierge.
Excellent Food and relaxing athmosphere. very comfortable and good parking.
stayed in The Regency Hotel, Dublin from 20-27th April. Location was perfect for my needs. The first room was a bit of a disaster, tidy room but heating control was broken. opened the window but the room must have been over the function room... a lot of noise. put up with the noise but on the 3rd night i had enough. went to reception desk and was dealt with in a most polite and professional manner by a male staff member who immediately changed me to a room at another side of the hotel. room was clean and tidy and comfortable. bar was nice with good bar food and service. leisure centre was an added bonus. Over all a satisfactory stay. hotel may be a bit noisy at times but the staff are terrefic.
