attended a wedding and had great weekend, food was good and staff friendly. will be back
Stayed at the Ardilaun first week of May 2012 to attend a wedding. Hotel management certainly have their act together in how to provide for a large wedding. All staff, and especially management, were very attentive and you felt that you could relax and leave matters in their hands. This was very helpful in that you were free to mingle with your guests. Banqueting room was beautifully set up and managed. All-in-all a very pleasant experience.
Good hotel, with friendly and efficient check in staff. Mainly self-service breakfast apart from tea & coffee but service here a little slow. Room quality clean and good temperature (unusually with windows that open!) although some of the bed linen looking a little worn. Overall a perfectly good experience and would recommend this as a basic level hotel, very convenient to city centre at 5 minutes walking distance.
Did the job for brief stopover. Some fittings showing a little wear and tear, but otherwise good with great service from friendly staff.
Excellent hotel from the minute you check in until you depart. Staff are excellent and couldnt fault a thing. Made full use of spa in the hotel which is highly recommended. This hotel is defintely one were you can chill out and come home from a weekend break feeling refreshed and relaxed. Breakfast in hotel is worth having and such a huge selection every morning. Only back from recent stay and planning another trip already.
The G Hotel is superb. Free underground parking is the first thing we experienced. Directions to the parking could be better. The reception area is very impressive. Check in appeared to go ok. We had booked a Deluxe room, but were put in a lower grade room. After a while in the room we figured is was nice but nothing extraordinary. We asked reception to check and eventually they told us they had made a mistake. We were then taken to the correct room. The deluxe room was very nice and definitely worth that little bit extra expense. We ate dinner in the Huntsman Inn nearby and this was ok - not great. We later compared it with the G menu and if we were going again we'd choose the G barfood option. We had a drink later in the evening in the G bar and it was very nice. Chairs were a bit weird - but that's part of the attraction of the G - it's not typical. Breakfast in the morning was top class - loads of options. I noted a guest who arrived after us was asked if they'd like a window seat, while we weren't asked and were put in the corner well away from the window! Generally speaking, the staff weren't locals - mostly foreigners - but were well trained, capable, frienly etc. Overall - a very good experience, would recommend it and would go there again.
I stayed here the night before St. Partricks Day and I cannot recommend it highly enough. This is my third time staying in the hotel. The staff were brilliant and could not do enough. We also got upgraded to a suite. The room was amazing, very spacious and wonderfully decorated. Will certainly be back and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel in Galway City centre.
Had a very enjoyable and pleasant stay in the Meyrick - our car was parked by valet and our bags taken to the room. Breakfast was excellent with a wide range fruits and cereals on offer.
Breakfast wasn't great & shower was terrible, too hot or too gold and had to run around to get wet. Room was a good size & great location.
the Imperial Hotel is situated right on the Sq, it's central to everywhere, great location. the staff were very friendly and helpful. the room was spacious, comfortable and warm, the bathroom was quite large, the only fault was no heating in the bathroom it was like walking into a fridge, freezing, def needs something done about it espcially in winter, the prospect of using it was daunting.
Hotel was lovely, Great location for city centre. Breakfast Buffet was very good, Loads of choice, Parking very reasonable as can get reduction rate through the hotel reception
Myself and my wife love staying in Galway and this is the first occasion I stayed in Jury's Inn. We picked the hotel basically because it looked like a really good middle range hotel, with reasonable prices but with the advantage of a great location. Our experience was really good. Competent and friendly staff and a great view from our room of the Corrib. The hotel is ideally located at the bottom of Quay Street with access to the Latin quarter and to Shop Street shopping area. An added bonus was its proximity to the Claddagh and walks along the river bank which was brilliant. Another plus from my point of view was the car park attached to the hotel, with reasonable rates for hotel guests. A really enjoyable stay overall and I would recommend the hotel.
Very nice hotel, breakfast is ok service ok dinner much better
Absolutely splendid! From check-in to check-out. If I could steal the bed I would, wow it was the most comfortable stay I've ever had in an Irish hotel. Breakfast was amazing & the spa facilities. It was walking distance to Eyre Square. Lunch was great. I will be back, it is a little more expensive than other hotels but so worth it. The price we paid with Roomex was really good value compared to hotel website price. Can't wait to return

stayed here for one nite only wishing it was for longer :( we checked in and was given a room on the first floor i tink.. but it stank of smoke with no hesitation from the staff downstairs we were moved room and floor. room was spotless and was great to have the extra perks which you would normally pay for in a suite like double bed that aren't two singles joined together my biggest pet hat a fridge and also air con which was a god send when the vino was leaving the system at 6am :) we had dinner in the restaurant and it was faboo the staff in the restaurant had excellent service skills and friendly. we also were going to have drinks in the bar after which was nice till a dj was booked and there was no available seats in the bar for other residents like ourselves and others who vacated to the lounge because of reserved seating .. breakfast was top notch plenty of fruit and as much bread and juice and variety of breakfast cereals for a buffet was brill also had the usual fry idems missing beans and mushrooms all in all i would defo go bk..
we stayed at the pillo hotel for one night as we were going out in Galway City that night. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly. The only problem was that our bedroom door must not have closed properly- although it felt like it had, and we had an intruder in our room. thankfully it appeared to be an honest mistake - they were staying in the room next door and got mixed up. It was unpleasent at the time as we were both in bed asleep when this happened. Staff came to us immediately when we rang for assistance.
Very basic accommodation but staff very efficient & friendly
We just stayed 1 night as we had to continue our journey the next day, but I was a repeat costumer as I stayed there another time as well. The personnel was friendly, the room was clean and the bathroom as well. The hotel looks quite new. It is quite outside the city centre, but it's really easy to find if you are travelling by car and they have private parking closed by a gate. I booked the room on the web and I think it was very good value for us as it wasn't an holiday and we just needed a place to sleep. We also enjoyed a very nice breakfast in the morning for 5.50€ per person.
Great location and good price. Breakfast is minimal but sufficient. Room and hotel corridors smokey and stuffy. Not a comfortable environment to be in for a non smoker.
The hotel was nice. The staff were friendly and the reception staff on the day we arrived were the best. The food was ok, but nothing to go raving about, we only had breakfast in the hotel, but unfortunley you would have to beg for more toast and would not get asked would you like more tea or toast or was ever thing was ok or were you even happy, much difffent then other hotels i stayed in. My conclusion is only book a room any more as there is always another resturant or hotel doin a nice cheap breakfast that is just as good if not better. The room was nice and clean, but my biggest problem was that when you were getting out of the shower or bath you broke you neck, this is becuase the floor is so so slippy without even putting water on it then when water is added it is letal. Even if you put the towel down on the floor it does not help one bit as i did this also the second time and still nearly slippiped and fell but luckly i did not. why does there not be a mat with sucken cups for the guest to put on the floor like some hotels i stayed in have and this might solve the problem intead of someone nearly hurting them selvelves or better still hurting themselves badly. concluision is you get what you pay for more money then better service.
