We had stayed before in this particular hotel. Overall we found it quite satisfactory. Initially we had a room problem; it was far too cramped for a double mainly because the lift shaft encroached on the available space. It should, perhaps, be more appropriately designated as a single room only? However, on making representations to reception, they immediately gave us a far better room. Otherwise staff and facilities were very good. Also, the location is very convenient to the City of London and transport services.
We stayed at Comfort Inn Victoria for 3 nights in January 2012. Twin room was compact and comfortable. Kettle etc provided. Good shower. Buffet continental breakfast had good choice of cereals and breads. Wifi available for an additional charge. Location excellent: just 2 minutes walk from Victoria Railway, bus and underground stations and very near Victoria Coach Station also. I would recommend this hotel and I would stay here again.
good location for tube and train access basic room hotel staff are helpful
Very helpful and pleasent staff
Stayed for two nights in room 503. The hotel is in a great position for sightseeing and is very clean. The reception staff were welcoming. Our room was on the 5th floor which could be reached by the hotels lift. Never heard any noise from the traffic or neighbouring rooms, so had a peaceful nights sleep. The bathroom is on the very small size but adequate. The beds were on the hard side and my son found it hard to sleep but I was fine. Breakfast was poor cereal, toast, cheese, orange juice ( if you could call it that it was undrinkable)and tea and coffee, we never bothered to go for the second morning as we felt it wasn’t worth it. We did have a problem with the electric sockets in the room they didn’t work reported to the reception they said they would be fixed. Ovealll the hotel was good value for the price we paid.
Very good value for money, very friendly staff, big rooms and clean. Also only 100m from Victoria Station.
The Hotel Location is good although no view can be seen. The reception hall is well designed. Rooms are so small; The AC does not heat and the windows looks so poor. The Breakfast meal found very poor and the service found the same.
Brought my wife to London for 30th and so glad we chose Crowne Plaza hotel as it was excellent. The staff went out of their way to help with anything we needed such as directions, advice etc. No need to help us with anything in the hotel as everything was excellent already! We did upgrade our room to deluxe as I wanted it be extra special. It was so close to Buckingham Palace and everything else for that matter. We walked to Buckingham Palace in 2 mins. We also walked from Victoria Train Station as this was only 5-7 mins away. We will definetly return to London as we didnt get to see everything during our 3 day visit; and we will without doubt stay at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on St James again. Thank you.
It was a beautiful hotel in a very central location. We had booked a twin room however at check-in we were advised that there were no twin rooms & they would upgrade us to a suite but it would be a double bed. They said they would transfer us to a twin room the following night or we could pay £20 extra to remain in the executive room. I thought this was a bit strange that we had to pay the £20 due to their mistake if we wanted to remain in the room. The next day I approached reception & they said we could stay for no extra charge. It was a beautiful execuitve room with a fabulous stand alone Bath. I will return to this hotel.
When we booked in building work was being carried out. I heard of this before I went by other reviewers and asked if we had a refurbished room, as the reviews of older rooms were not good. We were offered an upgrade to an executive room for £25 per night, which we paid, as this was still far cheaper than any other site prices. The room was overlooking Victoria Station so was quiet. Although small, it was well furnished and had a comfortable bed. We had a Bath with both a hand held shower and large overhead shower, but the latter didn't work. There were adequate beverages , replentished on a regular basis, air con and iron/ironing board. The breakfast was very good and the staff friendly and helpful. I hope that when the building work is finished that the lifts will be improved, as, so far you need to take two to get to the 7th floor, and one was out of action when we checked out , forcing my husband to lug the suitcase down three flights of stairs. But, despite this , our stay was pleasant. We had booked this hotel because it was near Buckingham Palace as we were attending The Queens Garden Party and the location was superb. Thankyou.
very satisfactory, clean convenient, good service.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The Hotel is old and has nice feel to it. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is excellent. St James park nearby is a green retreat in the heart of the city. We had a lovely (inexpensive) meal in Colosseo a nearby Italian restaurant just ask for directions at receptions. All in all worth the extra few euro
The hotel is very well situated, 5 minute walk to the tube station, and so everywhere in London is easily accessed. Our room was very well presented, and well cleaned and managed during our stay. Continental breakfast was included in our package, and, whilst nothing special, was perfectly adequate. The Reception staff were excellent in their approach, and in their knowledge and helpfulness.
