Well where to start on this hotel, second year staying here and it has detoriated. We stayed on the 7th floor. 3 seperate locks internally on the door which say something about the hotel. Room was filthy. No hot water for 2 days. According to front desk this was because of usage??? Eventually if you put the sink running, flushed the toilet and ran the shower you got limited hot water. Massive flood in the lobby, smell of dampness everywhere. Room as not cleaned for 3 days (the length of our stay) Positives: Location, it is in the middle of time sq Price..very cheap but you get what you pay for
This is def a budget hotel, there are no frills. The bed had no head board, the plastic was still on the base of the bed and one of the sheets on our arrival was dirty. The room consisted of an old chest of drawers, a TV, a desk, a table, a walk in wardrobe with no hangers and an ensuite. Paintwork was not kept updated and the carpet was old. There was hot water, the sink was clean enough but the bath and tiles in the ensuite were not clean. The location was second to none, the hotel is literally 2mins to Time Square and for the price per night you really can’t expect anymore than what was offered. The staff were satisfactory.
Sample Review We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Times Square is literally around the corner. You couldn't fault the room in any way, being clean and tidy with the usual comforts. Staff very friendly, all in all, a very relaxing and enjoyable stay !
The key thing about this hotel is the location - it's absolutely perfect and practically right on Times Square itself with the ticket box to get cheap tkts just a couple of steps walk away. It's just a quick 10min 12 block walk Downtown to Macy's and another 10min 12 block walk Uptown to Central Park - you will not find a more ideally situated spot. In general the staff we encountered there were a little dour, such as the check-in manager lady who looked absolutely miserable to be there. However, the doorman was very friendly as were the cleaning ladies we encountered - so a bit of both, which you get everywhere I'm sure. The twin-bedded room was of course small - no surprise there - as was the bathroom but it served it's purpose - we only returned there to sleep really. There was a closet area in the room to hang up clothes & store cases/shopping etc but we were hesitant to use it as it smelled a bit musty. The room was really warm and we left the windows open all day to cool it down. There was air-con there in the form of a heater-type construction on the lower part of the wall by the window which could be set to heat (which you would never need to do given the heat already in the room) or cool but it was quite noisy so I personally wouldnt use it at night as it would keep me awake. All in all, would definately stay there again, got a great rate on Roomex & loved the location - but would not be able to stay there in summer due to the heat.
The Hotel was very well located, Central to everthing. Lovely inside. Very Clean. Petite Room is quiet small but was fine.
Excellent location central to everything you want to be near. Rooms are excellently decorated and maximise space available. Staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. Thoroughly recommended.
This hotel was fab, very easy to find and in a great location in Times Square. On check in we were given a room with two double beds - ideal as I was travelling with my sister. The room was spacious and well maintained and unlike most hotels was nice and cool. Hotels are often stifling in the heat. Despite its central location the room and hotel was very quiet. Check out was efficient and our bags were stored for us until we were ready to leave for the airport. The next time I come back to New York I'm staying here.
The hotel was amazing, the location was perfect and central the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the room was very spacious and it was perfectly cleaned each day.
On arrival we discussed our booking options re room configuration. This was dealt with very well and we agreed to upgarde to suite. This came at an extra cost but was worth it. We have stayed in the Waldorf Astoria over the last 6 years as we normally come to NY once per annum. I will return hopefully again this year and will book the Walforf again.
The location of this hotel is unbeatable. It is 1 minute from Time Square. Going by what I have heard from other people I expected tiny rooms in a city centre hotel but they were actually a good size. They were clean and we got fresh towels every day. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They gave us a complimentary late check out until 1pm and free bag check until the evening. It was a very enjoyable stay here and I WOULD DEFINATELY STAY AGAIN!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Belvedere Hotel. We were there for my husband's 50th Birthday. Our room was right beside the lift on the 7th floor and I taught it was going to be really noisy but it was really quite with no problems. The room was cleaned every day, staff was very friendly, and there was a small kitchen with sink and microwave but no dishes or curtly a bit strange??? This hotel was only minutes from Time Square, Central Park, Bus station I would definitely recommend this hotel it was a very relaxing and enjoyable stay, And will defently be back !!!! Thank you Roomex
Great location, just a few blocks from Times Square. The concierge was very helpful in getting both bus tour tickets and discounted Broadway tickets which turned out to be excellent seats. The hotel itself is nothing spectacular. The rooms were large and clean with air conditioning.
Although it is currently undergoing reenovaations, this in no way effected our stay. our room was lovely and very comfortable. the staff were exceptionally friendly and as for the location it is perfect. all in all this is the best value hotel in Manhattan and one I will be going back to every time I stay in New York.
Staff friendly, Got a dreadful room, asked to be moved, new room was lovely.
