hi all,my wife and i stayed in a two bed apartment at quinta pedra dos bicos from 03/05/11 to 10/05/11,we previously stayed there in nov/10 for 10 days, two very enjoyable holidays.the hotel is ideally situated between oura beach 3/4 mins walk and the strip = pubs restaurants ect 6/7 mins walk. There is a local supermarket just around the corner very cheap 5 litres of water=65 cent,1 ltr of wine 69 cent 6 pack of 330ml beer 1.75 for those of you with a thirst, next door to the supermarket is a ticketshop where you can get tour trips all over the Algarve ect,we went on a historical day trip, away from 8 in the morn till 7 in the eve,all for 12 euro each. There is also a giro bus stop nearby where you can avail of the excellent Albufeira bus network. The apartment itself was very good, large bedroom with aircon, tv with sat no extra charge, modern bathroom, well stocked kitchen/sitting room with balcony, all utensils microwave ect included.the pool was just behind the apartment, good size, plenty of sunbeds. The hotel staff were very helpfull, when asked they printed off my homeward boarding passes,no problem. All an all this hotel is in a great location, with clean spacey apartments. Rant over
slight problem when we arrived as they had no record of my booking,an we had to wait an hour at reception while all my friends were allocated their rooms,we were there for a wedding. Eventually they found an apartment and kindly upgraded us to a two bedroomed apartment. Apartment was first class loads of room, spotlessy clean, and ideally located. The staff were all very good.Really enjoyed our stay.
My husband and I stayed there Sept 22 - 25th. The weather was very hot, location of the hotel was perfect for walking on the "strip" every day/night to the many different restaurants. The beach was a 10 minute downhill walk and not very large. Nightlife on the strip was hopping and very entertaining. We felt safe walking around late at nights. No ironing allowed in the rooms, you have to pay someone to do this and you have to pay one week minimum for a safe to secure your valuables. We took a jr. suite and the room was large and well cleaned everyday, all other areas were also kept very clean. Being North Americans, we still hate the idea of two beds pushed together...we love the queen or king sized bed. The hotel and front desk were always busy with people checking in or leaving, we met people from lots of different countries (some had stayed there before). Buffet breakfast was included and though it was the same everyday, it was quite a spread and well worth the money. Everything you could possibly need was available in the area. We took a $15 day bus tour from a vendor on the strip and definitely got more than our money's worth. Staff was friendly, people in the area very helpful, friendly, honest and not pushy. Shopping was cheap and bargains could be had everywhere. We had a great time exploring this area and would definitely go back again!
Suite was lovely, very clean, fine hotel, but for Staff, were very unfriendly, everything was a effort, One morning we were leaving the hotel at 6 am and the previous evening, we asked could we get breakfast early, so they gave us room service, just rolls and tea, and when we were leaving, they asked us for €2.50 for this room service. I loved the area, but I would not stay in this hotel again. Any people we spoke with that were staying in the hotel had the same complaint. It is not a hugh effort to SMILE and be FRIENDLY.
We stayed in this hotel for a week and had no complaints at all. Our room was cleaned every day and we also got clean towels every day too. We booked a one bed apartment, and this worked out perfect as we had our 3 year old daughter with us. There was a fully made pull out bed under the sofa which was very handy as we didn't have to convert a sofa to a bed each night. The living room and the bedroom each had their own air conditioning unit with remote control. Lots of space and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need. The only thing I'd say that's slightly negative is that there could be more umbrellas for the pool side and also the steps into the pool are not clearly marked and a lot of people slipped. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family, may even return there ourselves some day!
The hotel was clean. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and all spoke english to some degree. The only problem was the sea gulls by the pool soiling everything and causing a distrubance. A member of staff should be assigned to keep the pool clear of these disgusting birds
Rooms are clean and modern but very small, pool area very small and not enough sunbeds for everyone, stayed here for 4 days and if your not up at the pool by 9.30am you will not get a bed, had to go to my friends pool in another complex to sit by the pool, food at this hotel is lovely, but only had breakfast there. Hotel is a 10 min walk to new town, and a small taxi journey to new town. Staff at this hotel are very helpful and friendly.
I am very pleased with everything cannot fault it at all rooms very clean ,food also very satisfactory ,staff very polite
