Hyatt Regency hotel is situated in a good ...
Hyatt Regency hotel is situated in a good location, 10-15 mins from the airport and about 5-7 mins from Naama Bay by Taxi. We had a sea front room which was good but our sliding doors entered onto a lawn and you couldn't see the sea and we were at least 5 mins or more from the lobby between walking up steps and taking an elevator to the top.The room was of an ok standard, the furniture was a bit old, the towels a bit grubby, the TV was small and not a plasma or LCD.The Hotel is very spread out with lots of pools but you need to get up early (0700-0800)in order to get a lounge chair by the pool or sea.In my opinion its a very good 4 star hotel with no trimmings.Service was slow but in general it was slow everywhere we went.Expensive by midde east standards, 55 Egyptian Pounds everytime you sat in a taxi to go to Naama Bay (5-7 mins away)from the Hotel, almost 6 Pounds sterling! The Thai restaurent in the Hotel 'Sala Thai' was very nice although pricey, difficult to get decent wine at a good price.Hotel is full of Russians and Italians in fact the whole of Sharm El Sheik is full of Russians.Little Budda in Naama Bay is a great place to party after 1130 at night. We loved the casinos although nobody spoke much english there either and you need Euros to gamble and they will only change hard currency there and will not convert your Egyptian pounds although you can take money out on your credit card, Casinos open from 2000-0600.Sharm El Sheik is a party place to be,We live in the middle East so we had no interest in any of the cultural stuff and avoided eating in any of the food shacks. The egyptian people can be very annoying and for sure will try and get as much money out of you as possible. The airport is modern and clean although small. My husband and I would go back again and would either stay in the Four Seasons or the Hyatt Regency-Club Room.I would recommend it for a place in the sun as the weather was lovely with a lovely breeze. There is one golf course at the Movenpick which looked ordinary enough. The Spa at the Hotel was Pricey enough also although I did enjoy my treatments. All in all we had a great few days and a few days for us was long enough.Make sure to keep a small amount of Egyptian pounds on hand as everyone expects a tip even if they give a poor service
