The Jupiter offers excellent value for money. The rooms are clean and attractive, the air conditioning works, and there's even a Wi-Fi hotspot in the reception area for workaholics. The staff are friendly and helpful and the self-service breakfast is plentiful, with a wide range of food available - bacon, eggs and sausages for cholestrol junkies and fresh fruit for the health freaks. Even the frothy coffee from the machine grows on you after a few days!
In the evening there's live music at the poolside with dancing. Passers-by are free to join in since the entrance is open to the street.
The hotel's biggest plus is probably the location. It's right in the centre of Praia da Rocha, with the evening crowd promenading past the main entrance. The steps down to the enormous beach start 50 metres from the hotel. Restaurants and bars are all within easy walking distance.
If you have a car, there's a multi-storey car park at the back of the hotel with cheap subsidised parking for hotel guests. We paid 25 Euros to leave our car there for 5 days.
The only thing I would say is that the pool and sunbed area is pretty cramped. That didn't worry us at all because we preferred the beach and sea bathing, which were superb.
All in all, definitely worth a visit.
