I had downloaded directions to get to the hotel from the Central Station but I think I must have come out a different exit and was totally lost. Being New Years Day there weren't too many people about and the few I asked didn't have a clue as to where the hotel was.I finally arrived at the hotel, cold to the bone, and was glad to be able to get into the shower. While the water was as warm as required, the pressure wasn't great. I would have loved to have soaked in a hot bath, but the room was shower only.
I had a panini and coffee in the bar, and both were adequate.
The Buffet Breakfast the next morning was quite good, providing cereals, fruit and hot cooked breakfast if required.
Reception staff were very friendly and helpful, and I was able to leave my luggage in the hotel for the day while I was shopping.
Overall, this hotel is clean, comfortable and once you do find your way to it, has a good location. I have stayed in Jurys in Manchester and was pleased with that hotel there, prompting me to stay in the Southampton one.It provided me with a room as required for the night, but I don't know if I would be likely to return again if I were staying in the Southampton area.
