Customer Reviews for Kensington Close Hotel London
Our Customer stayed here in March 2012
The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment programme and the two restaurants are closed. The bedrooms have been updated and are very stylish. Both the English and the Continental breakfast was good. The hotel is very convenient to the Kensington High Street tube station around the corner.

Hotel very central location and all staff encountered were friendly and professional. Building work ongoing which exceeded stated hours on website but nothing too drastic - some tuneful banging in the evening! Hotel definitely needs its renovation programme as bedrooms very small and dated. However clean rooms and comfortable beds made the stay pleasurable. Just don't be fooled by the location distances provided on the website - not even a crow could make it to Buckingham Palace in a mile, more like 3+.

It should be noted in the booking process that there is extensive exterior and noisy renevotions taking place at the this hotel at this time. In addtion to the additional and early morning ( 8am) noise the work seems to be generating additional dust and dirt in front of house rooms. Our room, first floor, front of house, was a small room as a twin, tiny beds, and grubby throughout.
The hotel are compensating for the work in process by offering free wi fi to residents.

Our Customer stayed here in May 2011
The room was a bit on the small size and the bed was shorter than expected. The otherwise claustrophobic effect of the room was off-set by a pleasant lay-out and nice warm colours. It was a bit stuffy at night and I had to get up to switch on and off the airconditioning. The bathroom was compact but well designed. The hotel's greatest asset is their staff who are efficient, friendly and knowledgable. They had the gift of being able to act quickly to resolve problems.

Refurbishment works started at 8am. We weren't aware of refurbishment until we arrived at the hotel, and at check in were told the works were from 8am until 5pm. Bathroom was small, particularly the toilet area. Shower was good. Room was small, but comfortable. Safe in the room didn't work. Breakfast was super. Free Irish newspaper supplied. Didn't think the room was up to the price we paid, but perhaps when the refurbishment of the hotel is finished it will.
