The staff were very friendly, and although we had to walk up 3 flights of stairs, our room was comfortable and clean but too hot and we couldn't open a window or turn off the heating. Unfortunately, we didn't realise the hotel was over a nightclub. The music continued until very late and then we were subjected to the clients leaving the club very noisily,
or returning to their bedrooms and having conversations about their plans for later on that day outside our room, or so it seemed!
We won't be staying in that particular hotel again!

Had to try 3 different rooms before I coud get one with any kind of heat, Reception area poor. Had to go through a bar to get to the reception, Main entranence closed most of time. Needs to cleaned and upgraded. Would never stay there again or recommend to anyone.

This hotel is very central which is a positive for a night out. the hotel is very dated i.e wallpaper on walls, damp stains, keys for hotel room door etc. But value for money if you are on a night out and want to get some shut eye for a couple of hours

On the plus side, the staff are friendly and helpful and the room and bathroom was clean. I stayed in a room at the back of the hotel and, despite the single glazing (and some panes were fixed with plastic!), it was quiet except for the sound of air conditioning units out the back. On the negative side, there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room and the only TV channels were RTE 2, TV3 and TG4 - I wanted RTE 1 too. The lighting in the bedroom was a bit on the gloomy side (fluorescent probably) but the reading lights at either side of the bed were very good. I'd like to have done some work at the desk but there was no task lighting there so it wasn't possible. I found having to get the room key with the extra large fob every time I came back to the hotel a bit old-fashioned and I couldn't come and go without being monitored as there is a door to upstairs which is operated by the staff. On the other hand, this probably made the upstairs bedrooms more secure. The decor of the bar wasn't to my taste but the chips are excellent!
On the whole especially given the city centre location this hotel is good value for money but the location should not be a reason to charge a high price as the room was basic by today's standards. I would recommend for cleanliness, quiet and location - in that order.
