a fine room. spotless clean.excellent staff
Really pleasant stay. Great location. Friendly staff. Lovely food. Room clean and recently done up. Georgous bathroom. Would highly recommend!
Good location. Prompt check in at c. 2pm on a Saturday.
nice hotel. friendly staff. roomsa very nice. would defo stay ere again
On being shown room, discovered it was right beside the lift shaft, so requested a quieter room as I knew I wouldn't be having a late night and wanted to get a good nights sleep. This request was dealt with very quickly and I was given a quieter room further down the corridor. Having said this, the hotel does have a late disco bar so if you're staying on a busy weekend and are a light sleeper, I'd bring some ear plugs. I was on the 1st floor so higher floors may be quieter. But room was very nice and the hotel is very central so I enjoyed my stay at the Hibernian and would stay there again.
When we arrived we were kept waiting for an hour until our room was ready (well they had actually forgotten about us so we had to remind them). The room wasn't clean particularly the bathroom. When we went for breakfast we sat there for 45 minutes after we ordered and had to remind the staff that we hadn't been served and were brought out two breakfasts that had just sat in the oven as the plate was untouchable and the food was very dry. The staff were not friendly and i would not stay in this hotel again.
Nice hotel. Nice facilities. Nice staff. Nice location.
We stayed for one night the staff were very friendly the rooms was nice a and spacious and had anyting I needed.
Stayed in the kilford in mothers day. I brought my 75 year old mother and sister and had an excellent time, the food was beautiful and the staff were very friendly, also our room was very airy and light . I would have no roblem recommending this hotel for all ages and i will return to it again
THE REASON WE RETURNED WAS THE WONDERFUL STAY WE HAD LAST YEAR. AND WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED. EVERYTHING WAS WONDERFUL, EVENTHOUGH THE HOTEL SEEMED TO BE BUSIER THAN LAST YEAR. WE INTEND TO RETURN IN THE FUTURE AND HAVE RECCOMMENDED THE HOTEL TO LOTS OF PEOPLE.
Lovely hotel, grounds. Food excellant, all staff very nice - would recommed this hotel to any one.
We spent a night in the Newpark on the 21st April and we were very impressed with the hotel. Room was spacious, modern and clean. Bar food and breakfast were excellent. Leisure facilities very good. The staff were so attentive and friendly, and anything we asked for was received promptly. Would definitely return , and would highly recommend it for anyone wanting to visit Kilkenny.
had a very good stay at the hotel and due to the booking with roomex.com made it all that smoother by not having to sort out a payment or deposit as it was all taken care of, i would definitely stay in the newpark hotel again and book with roomex.com
Room is basic but clean - has tea making facilities and the curtains are very heavy and excellent at blocking out the light. Breakfast was satisfactory. Overall the hotel offers good value for money.
I had booked just one night in Kilkenny and chose Aspect Hotel because of the price, essentially. I was more than pleasantly surprised with what I would consider a 'little gem' of a hotel. On check in the staff were pleasant, friendly, helpful. He took my request not to be on the ground floor and gave me a lovely room on the first floor. The room was good sized, very clean, fully equipped, nice sized towels, lovely television, good sized bathroom. I had a meal in the bar/lounge area. The waitress - I wished I got her name - was superb. She even suggested that I should get my order in before the large group that had arrived - which advice I followed. The food was very good. As I was eating, however, I was surrounded by what appeared to be another coach tour of Italians and they literally sat and stood around, above, behind and talked across, over and in front of me. It was very uncomfortable. However, this waitress, noticed, suggested that I might like to move, assisted me with same and ensured that I had been offered another drink, etc. She is a huge asset to the hotel, because I was becoming annoyed. Breakfast was excellent, full range of everything one could wish, hot and tasty. Newspapers available at reception. I checked out about 11:30, but nobody rushed me. I would certainly stay again and recommend anybody to do so. If I were to find a negative, it would be that its location is quite a ways from the centre of Kilkenny, a little isolated from any other restaurants, bars etc, and took a little navigation to find. However, nothing that the hotel didn't meet with courtesy and friendliness.
We had a great day at a wedding at the hotel, excellent service and the food was out of this world. hotel room was in the courtyard and was lovely, great size room and bathroom, unfortunately in the morning at about 8.30 the staff began to move the trolleys containing the empty bottles from the bar along the path under the room window, this was very noisy and occurred every 15 mins for near on 2 hours, so after a great night at the hotel unfortunately we were awoke way earlier than anticipated:( very disappointing,
Food is gorgeous. Hotel & Rooms a bit old fashioned but clean. Staff very helpful.
We loved the Kilkenny River Court hotel. This was our second visit, after a gap of a few years. A conference in Kilkenny Castle brought us back to Kilkenny and we had no hesitation in choosing the River Court again. We were not disappointed. Firstly, its location is superb, right in the centre of Kilkenny. But its not just the convenience, of being near the shops, restaurants, pubs and Nore linear park. Dinner in the hotels restaurant, overlooking the Castle has to be one of the most romantic hotel dining rooms. Food at dinner and breakfast was first class, professionally served. As there was a wedding on both days of our stay, we accepted the managements advice to request a quiet room on checking in. Our room on the second floor fitted the bill and we had no issue whatsover. View was over the River Nore, not the Castle, and we enjoyed the sunsets. Room had a double and single bed. Bathroom just the right size. A minor quibble was the scarcity of toiletries supplied. And a hotel of this standard ought to have fluffy towels, not the very basic, thin ones on offer. Decor throughout the hotel is relaxing, elegant and classy. The hotel is a compact, city centre one, not a rambling country house hotel. As such we were witness to the two weddings. But, for my money, that added to the enjoyment, watching the style. The wedding parties themselves may have wished for more privacy, but , as guests, it added to the sparkle and enjoyment of our break. My husband availed of the the swimming pool, and on Friday afternoon, had the place to himself. It could probably do with an upgrade, and although reference was made to treatment rooms, I was unaware of any information on these, in the room, which seems a wasted marketing opportunity. If you are looking for a spa destination, then the River Court is not for you. Staff most pleasant throughout. All in all one of our favourite hotels, we will be back.
