Very nice clean spacious hotel across the road from the beach in a nice quiet resort. Miles of sandy beaches superb for walking. Good entertainment shows at night like Flamenco dancing, and excellent choice of food. Staff friendly. Suitable for all ages looking for a classy hotel and lots of peace and quiet. Ideal for relaxation, reading etc Sauna very small and 10 Euro to use......beautician very limited. I can definitely recommend this hotel.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The food choice and standard of food and service was excellent. Only negative about this hotel is that it is a good 30 minute walk from the main stretch in Puerto Del Carmen. We were there with a 6 month old baby and much of the clientelle was older which was fine as we wanted a quite hotel.
hotel costa volcan and spa was a below average accomadation, we had a ground floor appartment, there was no light in the bedroom as the only window was covered in a full length wooden shutter that you couldnt open ,so the bedroom was in constant darkness day and night, the walls were so thin you could here every movement, and sound no matter how small from the appartments either side and above of our appartment, this included very clearly their bathrooms aswell ,so much that when the toilets were flushed in the appartments above us the waste noise ran down a waste pipe that was leadthrough our appartment!!!! not a very pleasent experience for a relaxing holiday.....!!!!! The walls in the appartment were covered in damp from the floor up, the damp was covered in some sort of foaming white mold, and flacking in large clumps that had been just painted over in the poor "attempt" of a cover up!...other ground floor customers appartments were in the same poor condition, as later we found we had another thing in common, a more serious topic "human health" we all started developing breathing and chest complaints, as one guest reported at the end of our holiday that they got so poorly they took a visit to a spanish doctor on the island, also with a sample of the "mold' only to be told to remove themselves and their belongings from the appartment imeadetally as the pictular type of mold can cause serious respatory problems to a persons health as it releases spores into the air that is breathed into 'our lungs'... hotel resturant staff charged what they felt like on any given day' ie my daughter (11yrs old) would be charged 2.50e for an ice lolly that i would be charged 1.50e???? when i questioned this after a few days this member of staff made it quite clear in a very aggressive way 'that she was the manager and up to her to charge what she likes' hence for when we requested some ice in a drink we were charged 50cent for the '3'peices of ice !!!!! the list goes on..... if i had the choice again i would refuse to stay in hotel costa volcan and spar even if somebody else offered to pay for it,i am still suffering from my chest complaint for over 2weeks now and am so drained from it + the lack of sleep from the noisy appartment having to listen to flushing of toilets rumbling during the night ...i feel its now i need the break of a holiday to recharge!!!!!
The apartment was very clean.walking distents to main strip, people very friendly that work there..one problom..when we used the airconditioner there was a terrible smell coming from it..we did complain but nothing was done about it...but it would not put me off staying there again..it was a lovely quiet spot.
