This should not classified as 4 star hotel, maybe not even 3 star !!
A little far from the metro stations (Nuevos Ministerios and Cuatro Caminos).
Clean hotel, great location. The C1 bus from Atocha train station takes you right to Puerta de Toledo, 2 minute walk from hotel. The C2 bus goes right back there - but this circular line finishes early in the evening, check the times. Get the metro then. Rooms good, clean, spacious.. Towels clean but old. Small reception, could be quicker at processing. Friendly.
This hotel was very clean and comfortable with close proximity to the metro station. Breakfast was extremely good with lots of choices of food. Overall I enjoyed my stay here.
Perfect for short stay in Madrid, close to centre and all amenities, Metro etc, good breakfast served at reasonable time, View from some rooms not great i.e.a concrete wall. Concierge always on duty and all staff very pleasant. Would suggest more precise instruction for address, as there is another Best Western in immediate area. would be quick to recommend this hotel for price and location...........does what is says in the tin.
The hotel is in a great location and the staff were very friendly and helpful, but the room itself was very disappointing, for a four star hotel it was like something from the 1970's decor wise and the fact the the toilet and bathroom were on opposite sides of the room was a bit of a joke. I would recommend this hotel, providing the rest of the rooms were in a better state.
- Great Location - Very near to Gran Via (2 min walking)- Shooping Area - Meto Station Just in Front of the Hotel - Sol is near too (12 min Walking) - Good Staff
Lovely spacious room in the old part of the building. Beautifully clean. Appreciated the quick turnaround of the room to let us in as we were early arrivals. Good pool on the rooftop of the new building.

Hostal Persal is very centrally located near the Puerte del Sol (Sol Metro). Staff are very pleasant and there is free internet. Rooms are adequate size even if bathroom (only shower) is small. Price for double with breakfast was 54 euro which is excellent. Breakfast was cereals; fruit salad; some cold meat; croissants etc; tea/coffee. Limited choice but adeaquate. Recommended.
I stay here every time I come to Madrid for the great location, friendly staff and comfortable rooms!
This hotel has a great staff who speak excellent English, have lots of advice about Madrid and a friendly attitude. The rooms are large by European standards, the beds firm but not hard and excellent for my back. Large bathroom with tub and shower. Digital TV but no English channels.Good AC with control. It's a great value and after you find your away around Madrid you will see that it has a great location. We walked to Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor but at first took the nearby Metro. With the advise of the staff we took the #2 Circular bus from the front door to the Prado, The Retiro Park, the Reina Sofia Modern Art Museum and the Atocha High Speed train station. To get there we picked up the Metro at the Airport made one change at the Nueva Ministereos stop and changed lines to the Plaza de Espana stop. From there it is a few blocks. There are always lots of streets emanating from a square so if you are confused take a cab. The second stay we were given a 5th floor room with a view of the Palace at no extra charge. The 5th floor rooms are nicer than the third floor room we had on our first stay.
This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at the Regente Hotel in Madrid and like the first time we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is ideally located in a small street just off the Gran Via which makes it central and really good for exploring the city on foot while at the same time not so noisy or busy. Plaza Mayor, Sol are only five to 10 minutes walk downhill from the hotel and make a good starting point to begin exploring the city or sitting with a beer and people watching. We find the staff at the Hotel Regente professional, friendly, helpful and non intrusive which for us makes for a relaxing holiday in the very busy 24 hour Capital City of Madrid. We will definitely stay at this Hotel when we pay our next visit to Madrid in the near future;
Very pleasant place to stay in
we had booked a double and a triple room. The triple room had 2 single beds in it and we had to ask 3 times for a 3rd bed to be put in the room. When the 3rd bed was eventually installed, there was no sheets or pillow cases on it. Despite receiving assurances that the bed would be made up properly, it was the next day before it happened. In addition, the room only had towels, dressing gowns etc for 2 people. Otherwise, it's a great hotel
