I would like to say we had a nice night in this hotel but that is far from the truth. The hotel from the recption looked great with all the features of a pallace, lady on the desk was very nice and helpful as to be fair were all the staff. The problim was with the room we were given ie room 118 which was at the front of the hotel,a large room with high celings as you would expect with the age of the hotel,it was clean all round tv,kettel ect.In the corner was a dimplex heater which was strange to see but the reason became clear to us very quickley we had no heat at all in our room. I contacted the recption to make them aware or the problim the lady said she would send up someone with more bed cloths and an extrea heater,i asked her if we could change to another twin room but she said she had none available. The windows were not double glased which you would expect in this day and age so not alone was it not keeping the heat in it was blowing a gale through them. The street noise went on till three am which is what you would expect when you visit a city like Manchester but when you have a young kid with you not being able to sleep it is hard. I forgot to mention the two ladies who came up with the small blow heater without it we would have froze.....bad bad bad
Hotel was lovely. Located centrally. Staff were very nice. However the breakfast was terrible. The hot food was cold. I asked for a pot of tea. The waitress said no problem but came over a poured me just a cup! Our room was very big. Good choice of TV channels. The girl that checked us in I think her name was Claire, was lovely.
Stayed for two nights, had a lovely quiet room so started each day rested, Hotel is a lovely old building with lots of character rather than boxey boring newer hotels, also very central to all we needed. The staff behind the desk were always very helpful and the breakfast was ok.I would definately stay here again.
This hotel has the potential to be beautiful and elegant. The staircase and chandaliers are wonderful however the hotel itself is dingy and needs a revamp. The staff at reception were not very helpful and the room was very old style and the carpet was dirty, the windows were filthy and there was only one big towel for a twin room. The shower was very good, a good strong power shower. The batteries in the TV remote weren't working. The beds were very comfortable. But I do not thinking queueing for half an hour for breakfast is a good thing. The breakfast itself was yum but the whole seating and waiting for breakfast was totally crazy. The restaurant in basement was awful, food was out way too quickly and had clearly been sitting for a while. I wouldn't be rushing back here to be honest. Although it is a very handy location it was disappointing.
really nice hotel, lovely breakfast, nice roomy bar with lovely bar food, just a short stroll to centre of town, highly recommend.
lovely clean hotel in a good location for buses etc .basic breakfast but nice
Stayed here in Arpil 2011. Hotel is clean and very centrally located in Manchester.About ten minutes walk to the main rail stations. Would be great as a base for shopping/sightseeing/business. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The internet wasn't working in my room and I tried to call reception but there was a conference on in the hotel and the reception seemed to be very busy. I couldn't get a phone response for over half a hour and had to go down to them to get something done with the internet. The tech guy who came up to sort out the issue was really helpful and friendly and although he got the internet to work I dicovered that it was almost six pounds to buy internet access and felt that was overly expensive so didn't take it. There is supposed to be wifi in the bar on the third floor but it is particularly slow and of no real benefit. I would use this hotel again if they looked at the internet issue and started to provide much better value in this regard. David
I would highly recommend the Ramada Piccadilly. The hotel itself was lovely, staff were very helpful and friendly and above all, the location was simply perfect. The trams and buses which bring you to old trafford and the Trafford Centre were quite literally on the doorstep of the hotel. Alternatively, if you want to stay in town to shop then the shops are also a stones throw from the hotel. As the hotel was so central we had so many choices of places to eat and go for a drink. I will definately be going back to this hotel again and again!!

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel because of the great rate we got from Roomex! Check in was smooth, room was spacious and a huge bathroom. Reception staff very efficient and so helpful. A huge choice for breakfast, but my only concern was it wasn't hot which is a pet hate of mine anyway. The hotel was in a brilliant location, only 5 mins walk from Picadilly Train Station and about 10 mins into the centre of town. Couldn't have asked for more, would definitely recommend and will indeed be staying here again.
Very comfortable spacious room, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and great finish on all amenities, staff welcoming and informative (provided with map and local info)
very friendly staff.enjoyable stay overall
was in Manchester that night for a football match. choose days hotel as it was much cheaper than every where else on that night. although it was supposed to be close to Piccadilly station it took us 45 minutes to find the place.. staff were very friendly and we were able to check in at 9.15 am .. room was very small although clean.. i wouldnt stay here again but for the one night it was fine
First room very poor, got changed to another one, a lot better. Menu has not been changed in three years, the food needs a major overhaul. Too much chips and burgers, what about proper healthy food!!!.
We booked 4 internal rooms in this hotel, which meant there were no windows in the rooms. This normally would have been OK but there was NO air conditioning in the rooms and as a result they were boiling hot. On complaining to a female member of staff she informed us that we had booked economy rooms!! implying what else did we expect. Surely being able to breathe and sleep properly should not cost extra! Several other guests also complained. We were there for 2 nights - no effort was made to address the situation - reception staff said they would inform the manager - that was the last we heard of it! Apart from this the hotel is in a good location and, while it is in serious need of refurbishment, the rooms were clean
We enjoyed our stay only two things, 1. On arrival to our room it was cold & 2.it was a bit out from the city. Staff were extremely friendly & very helpful, hotel itself was very nice. Thank you to all for making our stay very enjoyable.
This hotel is ideally situated for events in the MEN Arena. The rooms are spacious and spotless. The staff are friendly and most accommodating to guests.
