Enjoyable 2 night stay in Marriott Hotel, its location is superb, right beside the Danube and also very close to all the main sites on the Pest side. 2 mins walk to Vaci Utca and the Basilica plus of course the excellent Hungarian Market which is approx 10 mins walk away. Check in was very efficient, staff very helpful. Breakfast on our first morning ( Saturday) was badly managed, too many people arriving at the one time and too few staff to handle the numbers. On the 2nd morning ( sunday) there were more staff available and also some management to co-ordinate. Overall a very good hotel , well located, if you get a good rate as we did via Roomex then all the better. One final thing, the drinks prices in the hotel bar are very expensive compared to Budapest in general , examply a large beer and gin & tonic cost HUF 3,700, in most bars and restuarants the cost was approx HUF 1200 - 1500.

Have just returned from a four night stay at the Marriott Hotel, Budapest. The Hotel was fantastic. We were 3 single people and chose 3 single rooms and were a little afraid we might end up in a small back room!!! Well what a fab surprise. We got 3 huge rooms with 2 double beds in each with the usual Marriott extremely comfortable beds and guess what.. all got rooms with a panoramic view of the river Danube and the magnificent city of Buda across the river. Spectacular.!!! If the view wasnt enough to satisfy we had the care and attention of a wonderful staff. We pre paid for the breakfast and this was good idea as it was really substantial and set us up for the day. If you choose this hotel (and all 3 of us would recommend that you do) dont miss the delicious offer from about 12 noon to 10pm of all the desserts you can eat washed down with unlimited sparkling wine and coffee/tea that you can manage for less than 8 euros. The location of the hotel was definitely the best we could have chosen. We had done our homework and even when there saw other hotels on our list and knew that we had made the perfect choice. So choose this hotel and you will have a super holiday.
