Customer Reviews for Mercure Buda Hotel Budapest
Our Customer stayed here in February 2011
We enjoyed our stay at the Mercure Buda Hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The location in terms of transport was excellent with the train station being only a few hundred metres away and it was within walking distance to most of the local amenities, it was on quiet side of Budapest.
The down side of the hotel was that when we booked which was some three/four weeks in advance we had booked a double room only to find on arrival that we had been allocated a twin room, when we asked staff on reception about it they said it was because they were fully booked given the amount of advance timing I would have thought that it should not have been a major problem. Also there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room although there was a hair dryer and t.v.
The bathroom was small but it was clean and the room was warm given the time of year we were grateful, breakfast was buffet style and there was a good variety catering for many people.
The restaurant we ate in the night before and the food and choice were excellent with great attention to detail.
The only thing that we did find expensive was the fact that my husband ordered a hot chocolate and it cost €6,which we felt was abit extreme.
Overall we had a short comfortable stay with the Mercure Buda and we would recommend it in terms of location for travel and short stays.
