The hotel is a four storey block in pale stone and with green shutters around each window. Being close to the water it has it's own mooring points, both to the fore and to the side of the building. The hotel's style is traditional throughout.General

The hotel is located on the main esplanade leading to Piazza San Marco, 3 minutes walking distance along the waterfront, and out to the islands of Guidecca and Lido, in the famous Riva degli Schiavoni. The Met Restaurant is the only Michelin-starred hotel restaurant in Venice , and one of only two Michelin-starred restaurants in the whole city.

Generous windows offer a scenic view of the island of San Giorgio, while wood panelling, elegantly designed Fortuny lamps, damask cushions, warm velvets, comfortable seating, mirrors in seventeenth-century gilt frames, an antique Indian coffer, 19th-century Thai armour displayed on the walls create a stylish and intriguing decor in perfect harmony with the creative cuisine of Corrado Fasolato. Bedrooms vary in size, but all are furnished and decorated in a typical Venetian style with ornate furniture and beige or pastel coloured walls. All rooms are elegnatly furnished with ancient furnitures and feature stunning views of the San Mark's basin and the lagoon, with the Lido in the background.
