3 out of 5Hotel was nice and staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast wasn't overly hot. They turned off the hot water before our departure time which was 12 noon and my husband rang them to turn it back on. We did enjoy our stay and the price per room per night including breakfast was the cheapest we could get.

5 out of 5Had a great stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was nice. Hotel is only a ten minute walk from the town where there is plenty of shops and pubs. I would recommend having dinner in the hotel food is great and there is a lovely veiw.

5 out of 5We were delighted to see the Montenotte Hotel had a room at a very reasonable price on Sunday night; we had heard good things. The room was superb, very clean and nice decor. (The hairdryer lead could be a bit longer). The staff were so friendly. The man inside reception also in the bar later offered to take a photo of us with my camera; so friendly! The Leisure Centre receptionist was so lovely and helpful, we very much enjoyed our jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and swim. We recently got engaged and wanted to have a nice night away in a lovely hotel and we were not disappointed. Thank you Montenotte!!

4 out of 5Hotel is in good location overlooking city. You can walk to city in about 10-12 mins. Rooms was in good condition, clean and bright. Food was good in bar downstairs and breakfast was satisfactory. Very good value hotel.

3 out of 5Comfortable and clean. Being charged extra for wireless internet access in my room - which isn't signalled on their website - is a bit mean at this level.

4 out of 5The Montonotte is built on the side of a hill overlooking the River Lee.Stayed for Sunday night of Jazz Festival weekend. An oasis of calm overlooking a manic city of Jazz. The city twinkled in the window at us as we listened to the The Jazz Ladds on Sunday night. We had another hotel booked in the city centre and we are so glad that we changed to this hotel. The roomex offer of €84 for a double room (B & B) on Jazz weekend was too good to refuse! The room was a standard double room that was tired /old in decor and somewhat smaller than other rooms in other hotels that we have stayed in.It was clean but quite warm even with the heating turned off. We had the club sandwich and chips in the pub.It was well presented and plenty in it!Food is served until 9.30pm and I guess there are no other places to go for food unless you go into the city centre at that time of night. Breakfast was the usual buffet affair. The only thing missing (as usual in Irish hotels) was the brown soda.Requested but was given brown sliced pan. The hotel has a swimming pool and gym but we did not get to use them. The staff were all very friendly and greeted us as we passed by which was nice. Overall a very relaxed and pleasant stay.

3 out of 5The hotel is in a commanding position with fine views from the dining room etc. The room was of good standard. We find the hotel hard to find. Parking is at a premium. Access to our room was awkward - walk up stairs, then down by lift. Our room must have been near a boiler or some such and was surprisingly hot.

4 out of 5The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. The views over the city great. All in all it was a good experience and I would go back again.

3 out of 5Thankfully, it was only a short stay and this is definitely not the best option for a hotel in Cork. The hotel itself was clean and modern. The room was very small and the bathroom in need of some repair. The public and dining areas of the hotel were well looked after but I won't be rushing back to this venue.

4 out of 5Staff were amazing they were on the ball and extremely friendly from when we got in the door until we left. Room was ok smaller than expected and for a four star they did not really have much in the room by way of toiletries in the bathroom etc. overall we had a good stay and would go again.

4 out of 5Hotel is on the hill, so easy to walk into town (about 15 mins down hill), but you'll probably want to drive or get a taxi to get back. Fare is about €7 for two people to Patrick's street. The staff were excellent, and the rooms were newly decorated, clean and comfortable.

3 out of 5We checked into the Montenotte and we were given a room at the front of the hotel on the third floor. The room was quiet small. The window was not double glazed so we could hear all the traffic passing by and alot of peoples conversations!!! There was a breeze trough the window and this was evident by the swaying curtains. There was an extremely large damp patch beside the top of the window also. The heating wasn't switched on so the room was really cold. On the plus side it was clean and tidy. Unfortunately there isn't a very good hot option available for vegetarians for breakfast, apart from beans or scrambled eggs!! I have stayed in this hotel before and know that the rooms are much nicer in another part of the hotel. I suppose it's just luck, which room you get.

4 out of 5Stayed in the Montenotte Hotel for a wedding. It is a beautiful hotel. The staff were fantastic. The service and food for the wedding was brilliant and would definitely recommend this hotel for a wedding. The best thing I found was unlike many hotels they didn't badger you if you were a bit late in checking out which is always the case after a wedding. The only fault I could give is that they only provide continental breakfast for the room. The room itself was lovely and really think that having a duvet on the bed is nicer than blankets. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and when booking with roomex you get more for your money.

4 out of 5Stayed here in this hotel as we were attending a wedding here! Found the hotel lovely since it has been revamped! The rooms were lovely-i only found 2 faults and that was that you couldnt get a full irish breakfast in the room and also the bath was very high to get in to for a shower! The bed was so so comfortable with lovely crisp duvets! The food at the wedding was fab-really really nice and the service at the bar was great! Would definitely stay here again!

3 out of 5Don't think the hotel merits 4****, although I had a comfortable stay and was looked after very well by the staff. Ample Parking and only a five minute stroll to the city centre. Strange set up in the Leisure centre where the reception for both pool and gym are located within the gym.

4 out of 5WE STAYED AT THIS HOTEL FOR TWO NIGHTS 13TH AND 14TH OF FEBRUARY. THE HOTEL WAS NICE AND COMFORTABLE WITH BEAUTIFUL VIEWS OF THE CITY BELOW. THE BAR FOOD WAS GOOD AND ALL THE STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND POLITE. THE ROOMS WERE BRIGHT AND AIRY AND OF A VERY GOOD STANDARD. WE LIKED THE AREA THAT THIS HOTEL WAS IN AS YOU WERE NEAR TO THE TOWN BUT AWAY FROM THE HUSTLE AND BUSTLE. THE ONLY COMPLAINT THAT WE WOULD HAVE HAD WAS THAT ON THE NIGHT OF THE 14TH VALENTINE'S NIGHT HAVING BEEN IN TOWN FOR A MEAL, WE GOT BACK TO THE LOUNGE AND THERE WAS NO ENTERTAINMENT OR EVEN MUSIC PLAYING, JUST A WIDE SCREEN TV ON THE SKY SPORTS CHANNEL FOR THE REST OF THE NIGHT! OVERALL WE ENJOYED OUR STAY AND WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL AND WILL BE VISITING AGAIN SOON....

4 out of 5Nice hotel with excellent leisure facilities. Plenty of parking and not too far to walk to the city centre, although a taxi may be required on the way back as the hotel is located on a hill overlooking Cork City. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was nice.

3 out of 5We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were there for a wedding. Bar and reception are were lovely and we had a lovely breakfast the next day with fabulous views of the city from the restaurant. The room was clean and tidy but was quite cold even after we turned on the radiator. Staff very friendly and efficient !

3 out of 5Breakfast over done, comes accross more as a three star hotel than a four star hotel.
