Hello,
We arrived on Friday evening 16th December 2007. We hadn't been informed that the hotel was currently under construction and were very disappointed that it looked nothing like the photos I had seen on the website. Our room was the tinest hotel room I have seen and the bathroom was the size of a shoe box. For starters, the room was way too small for two adults, never mind two adults with suitcases! The wardrobe was too small to put any clothes away, and there wasn't a spare metre of space to put our suitcases out of the way, resulting in us having to climb over them and the beds to go from one end of the room to the other. To add to all this, the room was FREEZING cold! We never managed to get comfortably warm during our whole stay. We were so cold that we had to leave and spend every evening outdoors in warmer restaurants and bars. Also, the reception was terrible on the television and even when I complained to the receptionist, she laughed and said that a construction worker hit a cable and it wouldn't be fixed until Monday. I don't know about the UK, but in Ireland we have electricians that work on Fridays and Saturdays! We had been looking forward to a lovely breakfast, but discovered that the milk tasted sour. When we had it replaced, it was still the same. I don't know how (or IF) any of the other guests managed to stomach it. Needless to say we didnt have breakfast in your hotel again.
Aside from all this, the one asset of your hotel is your staff. They were very pleasant and informative.
I've stayed in Best Western hotels before and I've never encountered any problems. I have to say, it put a dampner on our whole trip.
Regards,
Lorraine
