This was my second time staying at this hotel. The location is good; just around the corner from Lansdowne Road Dart Station and on a very quiet road. The hotel is five large Georgian houses that have been joined up and extended over time with the lobby, bar and restaurant areas having been nicely renovated and modernised in recent years. On my first stay here, I had little cause for complaint. However, this time I wasn't entirely happy for a couple of reasons. I was allocated a smoking room even though I had requested a non-smoking room; the tobacco smell was faint so I did not request to be moved. Otherwise, the room was basic but clean with tea/coffee making facilities and cable TV including Setanta Sports. A greater annoyance was that when I went to have a shower in the morning, the water was not even lukewarm - something I have never come across before when staying in a hotel. The full Irish breakfast was good and there also a selection of cereals, fruit, pastries, yoghurts etc as well as a selection of complimentary newspapers. Overall, I was satisfied but the little matter of the cold shower prevents me from rating my experience as 'Very Good'.
