The room was excellent. A great size, very clean and comfortable, very nice bathroom. There was also a microwave, cooker, sink and fridge provided (although no cutlery or plates or cups!). There is a safe available for use behind the main desk, but they don't allow money to be kept in it - I found this a bit odd. Although the location of the hotel itself isn't near anything of significance, it is very well served by public transport connections. It's about a 15 minute walk from the S-Bahn and 15 minutes or so on the S-Bahn from there to the main train station. Also, there's a bus stop about a two-minute walk from the hotel which connects with the trams and the U-Bahn. Breakfast was very comprehensive but a little disappointing in one respect. Lots of hot and cold meat, cheese, bread and some fruit provided along with various juices, tea and coffee which was all very tasty and nice. However, there was a large bowl of fruit salad which was quite old and didn't taste great. One morning, they actually chopped up a few pieces of fresh fruit and threw it in on top of the old stuff! I couldn't understand why they just didn't make it in smaller quantities each day. All in all, a good value hotel, if you don't mind using Munich's excellent transport system, the location is great.
thanks you for everything a very nice hotel and staff very friendly it s not to far from the center of Munich ,transport is fluent the hotel is very clean and well organise the booking with roomex was quick and easy without surprises good job i will not forget it thanks a lot
The location of this hotel was spot on, less than 10 minutes from the train station and also less than 10 minutes to the old town. The staff were very friendly, the hotel was clean and modern. The room was the same and also a good size. The hotel is on a busy street but we didn't hear a thing. My only issue with this hotel was the free wifi advertised which is a must have for me, only to realize that you had one hour free every 24 hours, also you could only log on once in that 24 hours. If this is not an issue for you then I would highly recommend this hotel.
Munich was up to its ankles in snow when arrived at the Courtyard by Marriott. We found a warm welcome from friendly staff who were helpful throughout our stay, and a lovely spacious comfortable room. The rooms may be soundproofed, we never heard a sound. The variety and quality of breakfast was excellent. We had dinner at the hotel on 2 occasions, the food was delicious and there was something for every taste. The hotel is about 10 mins walk from the main train station, and about 20 mins walk to Marienplatz - or hours if you stop at some of the huge department stores! We'd happily stay there again.

What one would expect from a 4 star hotel. It was just an overnight stay. What particularly impressed me was getting the S-Bahn line 8 train from Munich Airport direct to Rosenheimer Platz station, without changing, and then walking along a stretch of underground shopping mall and entering the hotel without ever having to emerge onto the street. Neat! And later I found time for a short stroll to the superb Deutsches Museum, Munich's most interesting place in my book.
Over all a very pleasant stay. The biggest negative was I was woken at 8:15 in the morning by someone wanting to clean my room and making a lot of noise outside. Breakfast plentiful and delicious and staff most helpful. I would recommend staying here

Very friendly and helpful staff Very spacious and clean rooms Excellent breakfast
I have stayed in the Leonardo Residenz 3 times on solo business trips. Most recently I stayed there with my wife for a few days city break in Oct 2010. As we were arriving in Munich quite early in the day I had contacted the hotel in advance and confirmed that we could store our bags in the luggage room until check-in. When we got to the hotel we were told there was a suitable room ready so they very helpfully let us check in early, which was most appreciated. The hotel is in a fairly quiet residential area, with 3 supermarkets (a Netto and 2 Penny Markt) and a good, cheap Internet/Call shop very close by. Good U-Bahn and tram connections within 5 mins walk. Hauptbahnhof & Sendlinger Tor are only a few U-Bahn stops away, so all tourist sites are easily accessible. Though the rooms are a bit on the small side, they are very clean and have almost everything you need, including a small self-catering kitchen unit in some rooms. We did not get a room with a kitchen this time, but this was not a problem as we planned to eat out all the time anyway. The room had a desk, table, armchair, safe, trouser press and enough wardrobe space and hangers. Bathroom had shower only, no bath, with liquid soap and shower gel provided, and plenty of hot water. Room was cleaned on a daily basis, with towels, etc, replaced as required. The self-service breakfast buffet is very good with both cold and cooked meat, eggs, fruit, yoghurts and lots of bread and cereals. Some days it can get very busy and a bit chaotic, with the staff struggling to arrange clean tables again and deal with requests for coffee. It is worth booking a B&B rate as other guests told me that the breakfast was expensive if bought separately. For once I got to use the small sauna area, which is spotlessly clean and well laid out, with lockers and plenty of clean towels provided. The sauna seems to get switched off at 10pm. The fitness area is tiny and has 2 bikes and one stepper. Since my previous visit in Feb 2010 the hotel had changed the televisions to high definition flat screens. The free internet in lobby was also a welcome addition, though it is in an awkward place beside a small ramp and in front of one of the lifts. The hotel lacks a number of 4* hotel frills, e.g. room service, and in-room tea/coffee making facilities, and the decor and carpets in the corridors looks a bit tired, and may not be ideal for some business travellers. Overall I have always found the Leonardo Residenz to be comfortable, convenient, welcoming, and excellent value for money. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good value hotel in Munich, and I already plan to stay there again on my next trip before Christmas.
Hotel was nice and clean if a little basic, the bathrooms looked new and were spotless. Breakfast was good but finished at exactly 10am with no leeway. There is a U-Bahn very close by which is only 4 stops from the Hauptbahnhof. Parking was extra at approx €13 for 24 hours.
As with all Hilton hotels, you know what you are getting before you go. The room was a good size (especially for Munich), centrally located (about 30 seconds from the train station link direct to Munich airport) and clean with all the mod cons. Would definitely stay here agian. With roomex prices, it offers fantastic value for money.
excellent stay, very well worth the money. great breakfast buffet. no ac, but who needs one under the alps:)
The Hotel Reception was nice and welcoming;the reception staff were pleasant and helpfull. The dining area was medium sized and well furnished. The breakfast was good and plentifull. The corridor to the bedrooms on floor six requires upgrading. The bedroom was small but clean and adequately furnished. The hotel has a good location-close to Haupbanhof. The only downside to this hotel (and this is beyond the hotel's control)is the human noise from the street at all hours of the night and early morning. Overall, a good hotel and close to shops and transport.
