The welcoming hotel is a traditional Victorian building from the 19th century with a stunning façade. The newly refurbished hotel presents the guests with modern convenience and comfort whilst still retaining a warm feel, timeless style and a multitude of original period features. With 33 guest rooms, the hotel also features a 24-hour reception desk and meeting facilities. Those arriving by car may make use of the rear hotel car park for free and there is also a lively bar and a restaurant. This hotel is a strictly non-smoking establishment.
Location
This hotel is located in the Corstophine Road area in the same neighbourhood as Murrayfield Rugby Stadium (around 2 min away). The city centre is a 5-minute drive from the hotel and there is direct bus access into the centre. Edinburgh International airport is around 10 minutes away.
Room Description
The well-appointed rooms are located between the hotel and the nearby lodge, many of which have views over the world famous Murrayfield Stadium. All the rooms benefit from a trouser press, welcome tray, hairdryer, direct dial telephone, LCD panel TV and en-suite facilities.
Meals
The hotel offers bed and breakfast. Guests are also able dine from the set menu at lunch or in the evenings. In addition, the restaurant caters for special dietary requirements.
Sports/Entertainment
The popular hotel bar offers live sport coverage, a refined, modern appeal with a strong rugby influence, spacious seating areas and a mellow ambiance. The nearest golf course is about 6 km away.
Remarks
Small meetings and events can be accommodated in the 1st floor meeting room and hotel bar areas. The hotel does not have a lift, therefore it is not suitable for elderly guests or those with disabilities. Check-in is from 2 pm and check-out is before 11 am.
