Hotel Description
The classic room is the most compact of the hotels room types. Colour scheme is browns and gold. Queen bed is the only configuration. Bathrooms are in good condition. The usual facilities in the room including ; mini bar, hairdryers, cable TV. The restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner. A Large restaurant with floor to ceiling windows and excellent views A dark grey coloured building. The original building is at the front, with a new annex on the rear of the hotel. A medium size lobby with thick carpet, slightly dark in appearance. Plenty of seating. Original art adorns the walls. This is very nice hotel, independently owned and operated, a landmark in Wellington. Excellent restaurant and hotel facilities including gymnasium and swimming pool. SE1007

I've seen better multi storey car parks. This is a dismal hotel - painted dark brown outside and the colour scheme in continued into the public areas inside. It's only positive is it's location which is quite central and close to the Te Papa museum. Views from the small 'Classic rooms were of the adjoining apartment block: the centrepiece of the harbour view was the cranes in the container terminal. In general, staff were somewhat indifferent. Food service was hit and miss, particularly at breakfast. Not really a great hotel.
